Dominika Šalková (born 28 June 2004) is a Czech tennis player. She has a career-high singles ranking of world No. 129, achieved on 29 July 2024, by the WTA.[1] She also has a career-high WTA doubles ranking of No. 138, achieved on 16 February 2026.[2]

Professional

2021-2024: WTA Tour debut, first ITF titles

In 2021, Šálková received qualification wildcard at her first WTA Tour event Prague Open, but lost to former top 30 player Urszula Radwańska. In August, Šálková reached her first ITF semifinal at home W60 tournament in Přerov, where she lost to eventual champion, Linda Nosková.[2] In May 2022, won her first singles ITF title, beating local hope Antonia Ružić at the W25 Osijek.[2]

In June 2022 Šálková received her second qualification wildcard to Prague Open, but this time won two matches against former Top 100 players Astra Sharma and Natalia Vikhlyantseva to make her WTA Tour singles main-draw debut.[3] She defeated Ylena In-Albon in straight sets to reach second round, where she lost to eventual champion and compatriot Marie Bouzková. She made her WTA Tour debut in doubles with Barbora Palicová, losing in the first round.

Šálková won two doubles titles on the ITF circuit and finished 2022 season ranked No. 317 in singles and No. 307 in doubles.[1]

2023-2024

In June 2023, Šálková entered Prague Open qualification as direct entry for the first time, but lost in the qualification final to third seed and eventual semifinalist Tamara Korpatsch. She received a wildcard in doubles with Barbora Palicová and scored her first main draw wins as they reached semifinal stage after beating top seeds Zhang Shuai and Zhu Lin.

Šálková won 3 singles titles and five doubles titles on ITF circuit in 2023.[2] Šálková ended the 2023 season ranked at No. 254 in singles and No. 161 in doubles.[1]

In January 2024, Šálková entered her first qualifying for a Grand Slam tournament at the Australian Open and scored two wins, before losing to local favorite Storm Hunter, in three sets.[4]

Šálková won her sixth ITF Circuit title at the W75 Prague.[2] She lost in the second round of qualification at French Open. Following the event, she reached the top 150 on 10 June 2024 at world No. 143.[1] She also lost in the second qualifying round at Wimbledon.

Šálková got into the main draw of the Prague Open for the first time as direct entry, beating Zeynep Sönmez in the first round, before retiring in the third set to eventual finalist Magdalena Fręch in the next round. Šálková entered doubles draw with Barbora Palicová for the third year in a row, reaching quarterfinal, where they withdrew because of Šálková´s injury.

Šálková played her maiden WTA 125 event in Angers where she won three matches, before losing to former world No. 4, Belinda Bencic, in the semifinals.

Šálková won two ITF Circuit titles in singles, her first at W75 level, and four doubles titles.[2] Šálková finished the 2024 season ranked No. 164 in singles and No. 281 in doubles.[1]

2025: First WTA singles semifinal, first WTA 125k doubles title

Šálková qualified for Singapore Open and beat Erika Andreeva in straight sets, her first WTA main draw win outside Prague, before losing to sixth seed Camila Osorio in three sets battle.

Šálková made her debut in Czech team during 2025 Billie Jean King Cup qualifying round and won her first match in dead rubber in doubles with Tereza Valentová.

Šálková reached her second WTA 125k singles semifinal in Grado where she lost to fellow Czech Barbora Palicová in straight sets. Partnered with Veronika Erjavec she reached her maiden WTA 125k final in doubles.

Šálková claimed her first title in 2025 at W75 event in Zagreb where she beat local Tara Würth in three sets final.

Šálková received wildcard into Prague Open main draw and won her opening round against last year semifinalist and fellow wildcard Laura Samson, but lost to Kateřina Siniaková in the next round.

Šálková reached her third career WTA 125k singles semifinal in Warsaw, in the second round she beat Top 100 player and 2nd seed Zeynep Sönmez in straight sets. She lost in the semifinals to 4th seed Viktorija Golubic. Partnered with Weronika Falkowska she won her first doubles title at this level.

At US Open, Šálková reached final round of qualification for the first time in her career, but lost to Rebecca Marino in three sets.

Šálková gained direct entry to 2025 Jiangxi Open and she reached her maiden WTA quarterfinal and semifinal respectively with wins over Aliona Falei, 8th seed Anastasia Zakharova and Bai Zhuoxuan but lost to eventual champion Anna Blinkova. Šálková reached semifinals also in doubles draw with Alina Korneeva.

Šálková finished the 2025 season ranked No. 132 in singles and No. 162 in doubles.

2025: First WTA doubles final, first WTA 125k singles title

Šálková lost in the opening round of qualification at Ostrava Open to former Top 40 player Fiona Ferro, but reached her first WTA final as wildcards in doubles partnering Lucie Havlíčková. They beat 3rd and 2nd seeded teams before losing to Anastasia Dețiuc and Sabrina Santamaria in the championship match.

Šálková, seeded 8th, then won her first WTA 125k singles title in Les Sables d'Olonne. She beat Anastasiia Sobolieva, fellow Czech and eventual doubles champion Anna Sisková, former world No. 23 Mona Barthel, her former doubles partner Alina Korneeva and Andrea Lázaro García during her route to the title.
