Thank you so much @Hoary, I have minimised some of the Exhibitions and Awards that I couldn't find any related information online. Thank you again for your time in reviewing my first Wikipedia creation. Hopefully more to come! Hongkongart (talk) 18:52, 18 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reasons left by SafariScribe were:
This submission is not adequately supported by reliable sources. Reliable sources are required so that information can be verified. If you need help with referencing, please see Referencing for beginners and Citing sources.
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.

my apologise if the draft that I researched and wrote gave you that feeling of COI but I personally do not have connections with Howard, except I did ask for his consent for writing about him out of respect, met him a few times on exhibition openings and he did kindly offer helps on this if i ever need one, such as helped me found 1-2 refs, images copyright issues etc. most of the items that I have written could be found online, his sites, art archive organisations and news outlets.
May I know what could I do to avoid this impression? rewrite the draft? delete his websites? once again, I was hoping he is my first subject and many more to come to let people know more about Hong Kong art and artists. Thank you so much for your help and reviews! forgive my newbie’s stupidity 🙏🏻 many thanks! appreciated any advices and guidances 🙏🏻 Hongkongart (talk) 10:26, 2 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Your submission at Articles for creation: Chilai Howard (June 7)

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reasons left by Timtrent were:
This submission is not adequately supported by reliable sources. Reliable sources are required so that information can be verified. If you need help with referencing, please see Referencing for beginners and Citing sources.
This is not good writing:

"His experimental video art [3][4], moving images, mixed-media and interactive installations [5][6][7][8] have been exhibited internationally in Tate Modern London [9], ZKM Media Museum Karlsruhe [10], Museum of Contemporary Art Taipei [11], Arad Museum [12], National Centre for Contemporary Arts [13], Saint Petersburg and Kuandu Museum of Fine Arts [14]. He received Award for Young Artist (Media Arts) from the 17th Hong Kong Arts Development Awards by Hong Kong Arts Development Council (2023)[15][16] and named HKMOL’s Most Outstanding Leader of the Year (2022) for graphic arts and spatial design and multiple awards from Red Dot [17], Good Design Award (Japan)[18], Muse Award by the American Alliance of Museums[19] etc." is an example of both lazy wiring and a total misunderstanding of referencing.

First, the lazy writing: This is a list of stuff, almost none of which Wikipedia cares about. What it cares about is a summary, in your own words of what references whcih pass WP:42 say about Howard

Then the misunderstanding. For a living person we have a high standard of referencing. Every substantive fact you assert, especially one that is susceptible to potential challenge, requires a citation with a reference that is about them, and is independent of them, in multiple secondary sources which are WP:RS, and is significant coverage. Please also see WP:PRIMARY which details the limited permitted usage of primary sources and WP:SELFPUB which has clear limitations on self published sources. Providing sufficient references, ideally one per fact cited, that meet these tough criteria is likely to make this draft a clear acceptance (0.9 probability). Lack of them or an inability to find them is likely to mean that the person is not suitable for inclusion, certainly today.

The great majority of your references are not of that calibre

those citing are to prove that his works have been exhibited to international festivals and museums in which not most artists/designers could get the same exposures in the art world especially for a hong kong artist/designer. (Of course then there are artists like Damien Hirst, Ai Wei Wei etc) and I read all the articles at the wiki regarding to sources, international festivals and museum exhibitions official listings do count as reliable. I understand each of you have your standard and speciality regarding to this process, while some of the reviewers said this page is very close to be approved, then now your comments seem like this is going 100 steps back. my apologise on the confusions but if you have some spare time, could you please share some inspirations on how to improve this as if this is even possible anymore, as many news regarding to Howard are gone due to many of the news outlets are closing down due to the political reasons, was very passionate to start writing about hong kong art, and this is my first (hopefully more, though this already took me a year) as you might feel so too. My references are not of that calibre, any suggestions will be very helpful, if you feel like this is going no where, I will delete this page so I don't have to waste more of other reviewers and your time. Thanks for your perspective and wishing you all the best moving forward. Hongkongart (talk) 19:17, 8 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
