AI usage in Kingdom of Odoacer
Hello, TheDeredzh!
I'm here to talk about your article, Kingdom of Odoacer. It appears it was very likely generated using Generative AI (mostly due to the edit history here).
I will disclose that I have a personal bias towards keeping AI-generated content off of Wikipedia, but my main concern here is not that. It is the quality of the text and references. Specifically, the eight references to books it contains are shortened footnotes that don't lead anywhere, and the other reference to a website is valid but duplicated, meaning there's only one usable citation for the whole article.
According to the LLM essay, which is not a policy or guideline but is widely referenced in conversations about using LLMs, GenAI should be used with extreme care and thoroughly checked and edited. Also, "In any case, editors should avoid publishing content on Wikipedia obtained by asking LLMs to write original content." Using LLMs is generally risky because of their unreliability and tendency to generate false information. In the case of this article, the references are messy and the external links contain a placeholder link.
I'm new to Wikipedia and don't know exactly where to direct you, but I recommend you read the Your First Article help page, check out Help:Shortened footnotes and the references how-to. There are also other, more experienced users at the Help Desk and other parts of Wikipedia that can help you further.
I hope this message is constructive and helpful. Have a nice day!

- There was no Generative AI usage while drafting the basis of the article. It may seem like it, but it was information already available to the public.
- The article isn't set in stone, so language usage will sound more natural the more edits the article has gone through.
- Still, thanks for trying to be helpful. TheDeredzh (talk) 21:02, 19 November 2025 (UTC)
- Hi, my main concern is not the tone of the article, it's the citations. It seems that you recently added a bibliography section, but many of the references remain unconnected to it and are therefore unusable.
