Consistency in CPU listing tables

Hi Artem S. Tashkinov,

This message is in addition to the important update email I have sent you. I think I have noticed you removing "Common features:" from the Cannon Lake article where it listed only one SKU. I am fine with that, but I'll explain that the reason for why I wrote it like that, is, consistency between various different CPU product listings. You see, my goal was to achieve a uniform look across those listing tables. So even if there's only one model, it says "Common features" much like how the other CPU series listings are presented. Hope that makes sense to you. But, I'll be leaving all this up to you from now on, as like I said in that email, I don't have the time to discuss and decide on sweeping changes these days anymore.

P.S.: this is what the Ryzen 8000G series APUs listing template looked like when I created it, I don't quite like how it looks now with all the extra columns added to the table. The Zen 4 + Zen 4c cores were already indicated in the "core config" column, where you can see in the footnote if it says "n + n", then that's Zen 4 and Zen 4c cores respectively. Also, Ryzen 8040 series mobile processors listing template then and now.

I usually only add columns to a table if there's a major architectural feature addition and the info varies across the models (e.g. E-cores on intel CPUs, the NPU).

That's all from me at this time.

I just thought about the wording and it sounded redundant for a single CPU in the lineup. I've reverted the change anyways. It now looks kinda awkward but I didn't mean want to upset you or alter anything. @AP 499D25 Artem S. Tashkinov (talk) 17:47, 18 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The change was okay, I wasn't requesting a revert, just writing down why it was there (and noting edits to other tables breaking consistency while at it). — AP 499D25 (talk) 12:31, 20 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Cite template author names

On four separate occassions in the same article (GeForce RTX 50 series), I've fixed auto-generated author names in cite templates you've added. I'd hope you'd preview your changes and spot any obvious mistakes in the cite templates (particularly author names), before publishing changes.

Bold, revert, discuss

The BOLD indicates that you should discuss any changes which have been reverted rather than edit warring. Attempting to correspond with Tga.D by edit summary is not sufficient or acceptable.

With respect to your edits to Signal (software) your edit summary states "The linked WP page EXPLICITLY INCLUDES SIGNAL. What else do I need to specify? Maybe you could actually check what you are reverting" which disingenuously skips over the fact that "the linked WP page" was altered by you based on a misrepresentation of the source you cite - 100M downloads is not 100M active users.

Furthermore you should not cite Wikipedia as a source. Cabayi (talk) 15:56, 31 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The removal from the Signal messenger article and the edit to the social networks with over 100 million users page both seemed unwarranted, especially given that Signal had been included in the article for many many months. I'm not interested in debating such drastic changes. Since the editor who made them chose not to provide any rationale and you appear to be defending their position, I'll simply step back. Thank you. And no — I have no intention of engaging in an edit war. That was never my goal. I misjudged the other editor, clearly. My mistake. Enjoy your WP. Artem S. Tashkinov (talk) 17:05, 31 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
You seem to be under the impression that this is due to some sort of anti-Signal bias. I can assure you that's not the issue here, and would point to the fact I've contributed code to Signal a number of times, and wrote an entire chapter of my PhD thesis on it. I saw your edit, and was surprised, since when I published that research (a year and change ago), the most accurate sources at the time listed Signal as having approximately 40 million MAU, so I wanted to see what happened that made it grow so quickly since. As was pointed out, installs are not reflective of MAU, so can't be used as a source here (I've installed Signal many times, including on several phones at once, but I am only one active user; I've also met plenty of people who tried Signal/Text Secure once, then never used it again). Since I didn't see any reputable sources for the claim, I reverted both the change on the Signal article, and removed it from the list it linked to. The reason I didn't go into detail is that the lack of a citation seemed clear, I assumed it would be easily be remedied if I was wrong, and that my edits would be taken in good faith. I'm also not interested in an edit war, and would be happy to find out Signal had reached that milestone, so if you have a source, I'm totally fine adding both back. After reviewing the exchange, it's clear that the current editorial norms around the article differ from how I prefer to contribute. I'm stepping back and will leave future decisions to those more invested in maintaining the existing approach. Artem S. Tashkinov (talk) 11:05, 1 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
