Image placeholders

Hello, please note that image placeholders were depreciated in 2008. Wikipedia:Centralized discussion/Image placeholders states that "placeholder images should not be used at all on the main page of articles". reppoptalk 09:41, 13 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Suonii180. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Louis Smullin, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. 21:03, 9 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm Arcrev1. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Wikipedia:WikiProject Louisville/Requests, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. - Arcrev1 (talk) 11:28, 24 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Arcrev1 It's an article request page, not an article. Citations are useful but not absolutely required. Stefen 𝕋owers among the rest! Gab • Gruntwerk 20:40, 26 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@StefenTower: Apologies, I overlooked the title while patrolling recent changes. Kindly disregard the warning. - Arcrev1 (talk) 01:11, 27 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

A couple light suggestions on WikiProject Louisville article requests

Thank you very much for your constructive updates to Wikipedia:WikiProject Louisville/Requests. I noticed that you have used edit summaries to question a few entries. A much more productive place for discussion is the project talk page. Another suggestion is to repeat the above thought: Since you're doing so much constructive work in the Wikipedia, you may find it advantageous to create an account. If you are registered, you get access to many helpful editing tools, and it makes communication with other editors more regular (e.g. if you get switched to another IP address). You also get a lot of cool preference settings. Thank you for your consideration of these suggestions. Stefen 𝕋owers among the rest! Gab • Gruntwerk 20:52, 26 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I also forgot to mention that if you are registered, you then can list yourself as a participant of WikiProject Louisville, as you certainly are. Cheers! Stefen 𝕋owers among the rest! Gab • Gruntwerk 20:57, 26 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for splitting Thrifty Ice Cream into its own article! It certainly was notable enough for one at this point, so good catch. Cheers! Johnson524 16:04, 16 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thrifty Ice Cream scoop

Commons:File:Thrifty Ice Cream products sold at a Ralphs supermarket 2025 September 05.jpg -- ice cream scoop photo, best I can do for now jengod (talk) 23:26, 16 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Jengod: Super cool (pun intended)! That picture is excellent. I was surprise that Ralphs had the scoop in stock since their website claims that it was unavailable within L.A. County. I should have looked at your stack of photos on Commons. Great pictures. I will need to pick a different "wall of ice cream" photo for the Thrifty Drug article since I now have more than one to choose from. Now, all we now need is some scoop shop photos for the Thrifty Ice Cream article (along with better prose), we might have the possibility of a shot for a class C article. Great job! 96.82.59.129 (talk) 23:58, 16 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Glad to help. Let me circle back and see if I can find any good drug store archival images per your request on my talk. It might be a minute but it's in my queue. Cheers. jengod (talk) 02:14, 17 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Jengod: There is no rush in doing things. The Thrifty Ice Cream article is a definite C class article with the potential of becoming a B class article once things gets moved around in a more chronological order and the prose receive a better polish. I might need to search the L.A Times archive to find more articles that were published before the 1970s. If you every decide to take more pictures in the same location, I would suggest taking a few shots with the glass doors open to minimize reflections from the overhead fluorescent lights (an alternative is to have a helper hold a piece of white cardboard out view of the camera to partially shade the glare on the door glass). For Wikipedia, the existing pictures are good enough. (BTW, $2.99 for 48 oz. of an award winning ice cream product that is on sale in 2025 is a good deal.) Spitting off a Thrifty Drug Store article would take much more work. 96.82.59.129 (talk) 15:23, 17 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Have you been to Burgerim lately?

I see that you changed the tense of the Burgerim article from past to present, implying that they are continuing to operate in violation of an FTC order and a court order. You haven't added any references to support this. Why? Is it because there has been no bankruptcy filing? Julian in LA (talk) 01:16, 12 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
