The following reference(s) may be useful when improving this article in the future:
Under commercial performance, it says the album went 2x platinum in the UK, however under certifications it says it went 3x platinum in the UK....Which is correct? 2A02:C7F:22BA:F700:283C:E6D5:E990:F2D1 (talk) 21:15, 23 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Concerns regarding article quality (and possible rewrite)
In the most blunt way possible, I do not think this article meets modern GA standards whatsoever and is in desperate need of a rewrite. There is so much missing information, such as what is actually in the album (see the "Music" sections of something like Master of Puppets), the albums undeniable legacy which tons of sourcing exists for, several unsourced statements and poorly placed quotations (instead of actually paraphrasing the information), and lots more. It is a completely unorganized mess, and unlike some 2008 GAs that are at least somewhat salvageable, I genuinely do not think that this article can be useful to anyone that is not already familiar with The Black Parade, and is seeking a comprehensive, encyclopedic article about the album. The other articles for MCR albums also fall victim to this.
With all of that being said, I love this album to death and I want to attempt rewrite the article to the best of my ability. Over the next few months, I plan on making efforts towards fixing this article, hoping to get the article to modern standards by the time Long Live The Black Parade begins. The reason I write this message here is to give everyone that may be watching/maintaining this article a heads up on what may happen to it over the next few months. Obviously, anyone else is welcome to assist with rewriting the article if they feel up to it. However, if I, or anyone else, don't get around to rewriting it, then I will likely be taking it to GAR instead within a few months based on the issues I have highlighted below. λNegativeMP106:26, 14 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@NegativeMP1: How has this article fared since then? Do you think it's up to snuff? I didn't think it looked terrible, but it certainly looks objectively better than it used to thanks to your efforts. I figured that concerning this, an update should be noted here for posterity, even after all this time. mftp danoops14:01, 4 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
I honestly haven't worked on this one as much as I could. I mean, I do think it's better now that I worked on a few of the section to get it back up to a more "acceptable" state, and I am sure there's more I could do later down the line. Just other MCR articles have been my priority and I've also been taking a bit of a breather from the subject area lately. λNegativeMP117:10, 4 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
I might dabble about and see about using some of the sources you have sitting in refideas eventually. This album has had an untold impact on myself, as well, but I have a busier life than I used to and I have a lengthy list of projects I want to work on. mftp danoops16:44, 5 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Japanese track listing
There might be some potential misinformation about the Japanese track listing not including "Blood". According to scans of the lyrics booklet and obi, they mention a "secret track" being included as the 14th track, with "Famous Last Words" and "Heaven Help Us" also being listed as tracks 13 and 15, respectively. This is corroborated by this Amazon product description for one of the Japanese editions having the same statement of a secret 14th track. Additionally, Jamie Muhoberac's contribution to "Blood" is still listed in the credits, which wouldn't make sense to include if the song wasn't on the track list anymore. At the very least, I think the "It is not included on the Japanese release" statement should be removed from the note as there isn't any cited evidence of that being the case.
