Merge proposal: Merge Shiv Sena (2022–present) into Shiv Sena

Thinking we should merge Shiv Sena (2022–present) back into Shiv Sena.

The ECI officially recognized the Eknath Shinde-led faction as the original party. So technically, this article is just a continuation, not a new entity. Keeping it separate creates unnecessary duplication. We didn’t do this for the Nationalist Congress Party when Ajit Pawar's faction got the name and symbol — the original NCP article stayed intact, with updated info.

Maybe the best option is to expand the Shiv Sena article with a new section like "Post-2022 leadership under Eknath Shinde" and integrate the content there. The Uddhav faction already has its own page — Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) — which is clearly a separate party now.

I think calling this party far-right is nonsense. Shiv Sena is not authoritarian

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want made. Please detail the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. Day Creature (talk) 22:42, 6 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
