Talk:Feijoa

In the infobox, the listed genus, Feijoa, links back to the Feijoa sellowiana article. I'm reading that Acca is synonymous with Feijoa, so I believe the infobox should link to the Acca (plant) article, whether or not the genus is listed as Feijoa or Acca here. ——24.5.252.198 (talk) 19:50, 1 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Acca

I think modern taxonomists place Feijoa in Acca genus, the 3 species are similar. so slight modifies here and there needs to be done. -102.38.8.70 (talk) 12:13, 16 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Pronuncation

The name of the fruit is feijoa (This fact seems implicit but missing). How is it pronounced (in English)? 136.36.176.51 (talk) 15:56, 7 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Mentioned in the lede - "fay-ow-uh" in English, with variations in Spanish and Portuguese (shown in the lede). Zefr (talk) 17:48, 7 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
However, the pronunciation "fee-JO-uh" is common in English (probably more common than "fay-ow-uh"). PatricKiwi (talk) 18:49, 9 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
In New Zealand I've only ever heard "fee-JO-uh" before. ―Panamitsu (talk) 02:21, 10 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
