Incorrect date for Melnyk's letter
It appears that Rossolinksi-Liebe makes a mistake with the date of Melnyk's letter to Ribbentrop. He says 1938 intext but cites it in the footnote as being 1939. All other mentions of this letter online are cited to Rossolinksi-Liebe's book, seemingly oblivious to the discrepancy.
It makes no sense for Melnyk to be writing a letter to the German foreign minister on 2 May 1938-- Konovalets had not yet been assassinated and Melnyk had apparently stepped back from his coordinating role in the home command by that point (he certainly was never in the executive command). However in May 1939, Melnyk was acting head of the OUN and in the months prior had been attempting to attain German recognition of Carpatho-Ukraine.

The page is protected so I can't change it myself. The edit I would like to make can be found in Organisation of Ukrainian Nationalists where the quote also appears-- it entails changing the date to 1939 and adding the archival source and efn note explaining the discrepancy. 90.160.109.62 (talk) 21:07, 25 August 2025 (UTC)

Done Although I used a comment instead of an explanatory note to explain that Rossoliński-Liebe made a typo. This information isn't important for the typical reader of the article, but it's there as a comment in case any editor decides to check the source and gets confused about what the correct year is.
