Preliminary comments & evaluation
This is the biography of (at the time of the review living) Greek scientist with notable contributions in the field of rare-diseases, e.g., Bartsocas-Papas Syndrome and pediatric prevention and treatment. While this means that the article has great potential, it does not yet meet the criteria for GA status. Many of these issue are rather fundamental. Given the amount of work required to achieve this, I am have to reject it. It is better these issues to be addressed thoroughly without the pressure of an ongoing review. Another factor was the lack of WP:RS secondary sources that can provide information about his life.
- The lead is rather short and not reflective of the subject's life. Also, this information should be in the lead as it is unnecessary OMIM: 263650[5] on chromosome 21q22, LD26.4Y in ICD-11 and ORPHA:1234, this is the lead of a biography not that of a disease. This information can be described in the main body. See MOS:INTRO.
- There are significant number of statements that require a citation. Several tags requesting citation have been place in the article.
- It is recommended for the editor to familiarize with the WP:MOS. There are several misplaced style choices and lack of consistency.
- The only figure used do not appear in a satisfactory way the potential copyright issues.
- infobox profile picture The uploader is a user called by the same surname, but this is not sufficient, since anyone could create such an account.
- Subsection with selected articles should be in citation template (see Template:Cite journal and Template:Cite book) in order to ensure consistency. Citations from other sources are not needed, provided there are links to find the original papers at their publishing journals. For example, the first one should look like:
- Bartsocas, C.S.; Papas, C.V. (1972). "Popliteal pterygium syndrome. Evidence for a severe autosomal recessive form" (PDF). Journal of Medical Genetics. 9 (2): 222. doi:10.1136/jmg.9.2.222.
- The format of the above looks as follows: {{cite journal | last1 = Bartsocas | first1 = C.S. | last2 = Papas | first2 = C.V. | year = 1972 | title = Popliteal pterygium syndrome. Evidence for a severe autosomal recessive form | journal = Journal of Medical Genetics | volume = 9 | issue = 2 | page = 222 | doi = 10.1136/jmg.9.2.222 | url = https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC1469049/pdf/jmedgene00361-0088.pdf }}
- Overall, I felt while reading of the article was that it lacked a narrative and instead it read as a collection of facts here and there. To be considered for GA, it needs to have a well structured narrative about the life of its subject supported by secondary sources, see WP:RS. The latter appears to be missing or relying on self-published information, which does not meet the standards of WP. Given that this is a living person biography, the demand for these sources is higher than any other case.
Failed "good article" nomination
This article has failed its Good article nomination. This is how the article, as of December 19, 2025, compares against the six good article criteria:
- 1. Well written?: fail

- 2. Verifiable?: fail

- 3. Broad in coverage?: fail

- 4. Neutral point of view?: hold
(one cannot judge neutrality without independent sources) - 5. Stable?: pass

- 6. Images?: fail

Summary, thank you for the effort in writing this article, however, at the present stage it does not meet the GA status and it appears it requires considerable work to achieve this. It might also require time until reliable secondary sources describing his life appear in the literature.
When these issues are addressed, the article can be renominated. If you feel that this review is in error, feel free to have it reassessed. Thank you for your work so far.
