Women in Latin music taskforce proposal

A few months ago, @SunriseInBrooklyn:, created WikiProject Women in Latin music, which was deleted due to a lack of consensus. I opposed the deletion, but I think the scope might work better as a taskforce. I would like to see if I can get consensus to create a task force dedicated to women in Latin music. @AJona1992:, @AlexanderShakifan29:, @Jaespinoza:, @Victor Lopes:, @JeanetteMartin:, @Mauri96:, @Key limes:, @Cambalachero:, @Bryan McLaude:, @Swe97:, @Sebitagermanotta:, @Jaliscan:, @FanDePopLatino:, @PaulYordan:, @JuliánLeiva66:, @DiegoF 1996:, @Didarrius:, @Mtvdanilo:, @Rangel's Version:, @GanzKnusper:, @Curiosidadetp1:, @Oscar .:. I apologize for the mass ping, but I thought this task force would be a good idea. Erick (talk) 20:14, 26 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

It seems totally doable to me, I think I’ve seen some task lists that could be used in the WikiProject Women in Red, Oscar_. (talk) 23:33, 26 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I agree, many taskforce aims are to work on a set sublist, and women in Latin music is a very logical scope for that. Good idea. Kingsif (talk) 00:55, 27 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds good to me! Victor Lopes Fala!C 14:35, 27 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
(Came here from a notification at WikiProject Women in Red.) This sounds like a good idea should work well as a taskforce. GothicGolem29 (talk) 16:22, 27 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Lemme know I can help! 💪🏻😁 Bryan McLaude (talk) 01:01, 28 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I’d be happy to help with articles about Latin music female artists. --Didarrius (talk) 17:34, 28 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Good idea, I'd support this. GanzKnusper (talk) 08:22, 29 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I'm a quite a bit busier than in years past, but I'll be happy to pitch in when and where I can, especially with articles and lists pertaining to Peruvian acts and South America more broadly. Mauri96 (talk) 15:10, 31 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I agree to the task force. – jona 18:52, 4 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Great news!! Women in Latin music has been created! Thanks to those who particpated!! @Oscar .:, @Victor Lopes:, @Bryan McLaude:, @GothicGolem29:, @Didarrius:, @GanzKnusper:, @Mauri96:, @AJona1992:, @Kingsif: sorry for the mass ping, I just need one more consensus and that is to have a bot tag articles listed under Women in Latin music. Erick (talk) 21:27, 12 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

No objections. Victor Lopes Fala!C 20:45, 13 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I agree to having the bot tag articles. GanzKnusper (talk) 09:29, 14 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I also don't have objections. By the way, do we know if they can have a similar tagging bot for the Spanish Wiki? Thanks, Oscar_. (talk) 16:11, 14 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Oscar . Try this link. Erick (talk) 18:09, 16 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hey everyone! Join us for a virtual contest celebrating Wikipedia Day 2026 and Bad Bunny’s historic Super Bowl performance! WikiLatinos alongside with our Latin music project will be activating a new Discord channel for this, and we will be messaging all active members to bring us together and strengthen Wikipedia’s coverage of Bad Bunny, other Puerto Rican artists and the social realities shaping Latino communities. Hope many can join! Oscar_. (talk) 02:06, 13 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

A belated happy new year to everyone! First let me say, wow! We now have over 150 members!! We've grown a lot since the Latin music project became its own WikiProject 14 years ago!! Anyways, I wanted to bring your attention to two things: 1) We have collaborated with WikiProject Latino and Hispanic heritage to have our own Discord server! It can be found here! We have our own dedicated music channel on the Latinos Discord server. 2), Women in Latin music is now open as its own taskforce!! Thanks for the consensus from above!! Both of these are entirely optional, but I just wanted bring these to your attention. Anyways, again happy belated year and let's make this year even bigger!! Erick (talk) 18:55, 2 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Also want to mention @Didarrius:, @Markus WikiEditor:, and @Apoxyomenus: Erick (talk) 19:38, 2 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't get the ping indeed, but I was watching this page, so all good now. Victor Lopes Fala!C 22:30, 2 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the heads up Victor! I will try pining everyone else again. Erick (talk) 23:49, 2 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
If I could take a wild guess, I'd say that trying to ping too many people at once may automatically disable the pings in order to prevent possible spamming (which was obviously not the case here). Victor Lopes Fala!C 14:53, 3 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
That's my guess too. Anyways, I sent the message to each person on their talk page plus I fixed the link to the discord server. Erick (talk) 16:24, 3 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
