BTS

Hi Btspurplegalaxy; Long time no talk page. I've noticed that someone is reverting the edit about the forthcoming world tour and new album in 2026 for BTS with multiple reliable sources here [1] and here [2] and here [3] and here [4]. The revert was made because BigHit was not given as a source; I'm not sure that's how Wikipedia usually works since Wikipedia usually follows reliable sources. Could you take a look. I think we’ll need confirmed dates for the events before adding anything. So far, they’ve only been mentioned briefly, and there aren’t any official dates yet. Regarding the Hype Beast source, it only references rumors, which wouldn’t be appropriate to use for sourcing. That’s likely why your edit was reverted. I've Retyped the cites and links above. Wikipedia Autoformat put them in 'nowiki' format for some reason which made them unreadable. Fixed now. My own thoughts are that since all four of them are all consistently claiming 65 show dates BTS next year, that the news seems useful. They are also giving a date in late March for the new album release; I would include it. ErnestKrause (talk) 21:09, 29 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
It doesn’t need to be a claim, it needs to be confirmed information. Both citations (1 & 2) clearly indicate that the details are not confirmed:
Cite 1 (at the bottom) states: “In a statement to The Independent, a spokesperson from BTS’s label Hybe said:
‘Details regarding BTS’s new album and the scale of the world tour remain unconfirmed.’”
Cite 2 mentions:
“BTS’s agency BigHit Music did not confirm the report, citing that details have yet to be confirmed.”
Since both sources explicitly say the information is unconfirmed, we cannot include it in the article, doing so would be adding unverified news, which goes against Wikipedia’s verifiability and reliability guidelines. Btspurplegalaxy 💬 🖊️ 21:40, 29 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I'm going with your reading; my thought was previously that BigHit was only waiting for final confirmations before they were announcing the actual dates. Otherwise, I'm going along with you on this. Good to hear from you. ErnestKrause (talk) 21:45, 29 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
