Don't want to edit/vandalize but someone might as well delete:

That's bullshit. Having grown up in a wine producing region I know for a fact that everyone knew about glycol. Small town drugstores selling antifreeze by the truckload... in summer! The statement comes from the source given. If you have reliable sources indicating that it has been common practice to add DEG or other toxic compounds to wines in other areas, you should of course add them, but hearsay doesn't qualify as WP:RS.
