Ram Ji Lal Suman (born 25 July 1950) is an Indian politician and a senior leader of the Samajwadi Party. He is currently serving as a Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha from Uttar Pradesh.[1]

He has represented the Firozabad constituency in the Lok Sabha three times — 1977, 1989, and 1999 — under different political parties including the Janata Party, Janata Dal and Samajwadi Party.[2]

Early life and education

Ram Ji Lal Suman was born on 25 July 1950 in Firozabad district, Uttar Pradesh. Details about his early education are limited in the public domain.[2]

Political career

He began his political career with the Janata Party and was first elected to the 6th Lok Sabha in 1977. He was later associated with the Janata Dal and served again in the 9th Lok Sabha (1989–1991).[3] In 1999, he joined the Samajwadi Party and was elected to the 13th Lok Sabha, representing Firozabad till 2009.[4]
