English: "The Ohio Penitentiary operated from 1834-1984 in downtown Columbus and contained a women's facility which was opened in 1837. After its closure, it was purchased by the City of Columbus and demolished to be replaced by the Burnham Square Condominiums and Nationwide Arena."
