Description
English: Funerary stele from Nicomedia (modern İzmit) in Bithynia, white marble, ca. 150–100 BC. The dead is figured reclining on a bed and surrounded by his wife and son. Two slaves, customarily figured in a diminutive fashion, stand at the end of the bed.
Français : Stèle funéraire de Nicomédie (actuelle İzmit) en Bithynie. Le défunt est représenté sur un lit, entouré de sa femme et de son fils. Deux esclaves, figurés de taille plus petite comme le veut la tradition, se trouvent au pied du lit.
