Arzana (Italian: [ˈartsana]; Sardinian: Àrtzana, Àrthana) is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Ogliastra in the Italian region Sardinia, located about 90 kilometres (56 mi) northeast of Cagliari and about 10 kilometres (6 mi) west of Tortolì. It has a population of 2,211.[2]
Arzana borders the following municipalities: Aritzo, Desulo, Elini, Gairo, Ilbono, Jerzu, Lanusei, Seui, Seulo, Tortolì, Villagrande Strisaili, Villaputzu. Arzana is located about 670 metres (2,200 ft) above sea level.
Demographics
As of 2025, Arzana has a population of 2,211, of which 50.0% are male and 50.0% are female, compared to the national average of 49.0% and 51.0% respectively. Minors make up 13.8% of the population, and seniors make up 26.8%, compared to the national average of 14.9% and 24.7% respectively.[2]
