Other than a vague allusion toward the very end of this VERY long article, there is absolutely no mention of the fact that the feudal system did not actually exist in any meaningful way anywhere in Europe, ever. Maybe lead with that?

Interesting that some "scholars" think the breakdown of central govt about yr 1000 into counties brought violence, whereas others think it's the appearance of central govt that brought "the Norman Yoke." ~2025-36144-08 (talk) 17:46, 24 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
