Hilary Clinton's role in the Controversy
This article is notably lacking Hilary Clinton's role in launching the controversy by means of her comments during the Democratic Primary campaign against Barack Obama. The source of this claim and the facts and history should be added to this article. For example, a discussion is found here. https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2016/sep/16/donald-trump/fact-checking-donald-trumps-claim-hillary-clinton-/ 2601:18F:E80:894B:ECC6:DB8B:A91E:ADA1 (talk) 11:18, 24 May 2024 (UTC)
- Did you read the Barack_Obama_citizenship_conspiracy_theories#Origins_of_the_claims section? Here's another ref:[1] Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 13:16, 24 May 2024 (UTC)
- one thing that is actually missing is any mention of the Obama "turban photo" that his campaign alleged was spread by the Clinton campaign (and a broader contextualization of how the Clinton campaign at least passively hoped to profit from birtherism). - Per your source, that seems to be about Barack Obama religion conspiracy theories, and it's mentioned there. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 07:21, 29 May 2024 (UTC)

Choice of words regarding religion
This page auto-archives so fast that I may have missed something, but I can't find it in the index. Wouldn't, say, "Obama's religious affiliation" or "allegiance" be preferable to "Obama's religious preference" in the opening sentence? Mucketymuck (talk) 20:34, 26 July 2025 (UTC)
External links
In this edit, I removed most of the external links. The links are largely either already used as sources in the article, or otherwise unfit for inclusion due to reliability and usefulness concerns. The list remains archived in this article's history. Wracking talk! 20:34, 14 June 2024 (UTC)
Salon staff writer's feelings mentioned inappropriately
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barack_Obama_citizenship_conspiracy_theories#Joe_Arpaio
In the section dedicated to Joe Arpaio, the irrelevant feelings of a random staff writer from Salon; Alex Pareene, are mentioned: "I think we have long since passed the point at which I'd find this story believable in a fictional setting."
This is unnecessary/misplaced as it does not pertain specifically to Joe Arpaio but to how this writer feels about the birther conspiracy theory in general.
