This is a collection of discussions on the deletion of articles related to Croatia. It is one of many deletion lists coordinated by WikiProject Deletion sorting. Anyone can help maintain the list on this page.
- Adding a new AfD discussion
- Adding an AfD to this page does not add it to the main page at WP:AFD. Similarly, removing an AfD from this page does not remove it from the main page at WP:AFD. If you want to nominate an article for deletion, go through the process on that page before adding it to this page. To add a discussion to this page, follow these steps:
- and add {{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PageName}} to the top of the list. Replace "PageName" with the relevant article name, i.e. the one on the existing AFD discussion. Also, indicate the title of the article in the edit summary as it is particularly helpful to add a link to the article in the edit summary. When you save the page, the discussion will automatically appear.
- You should also tag the AfD by adding {{subst:delsort|Croatia|~~~~}} to it, which will inform editors that it has been listed here. You may place this tag above or below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.
- There are a few scripts and tools that can make this easier.
- Removing a closed AfD discussion
- Closed AfD discussions are automatically removed by a bot.
- Other types of discussions
- You can also add and remove other discussions (prod, CfD, TfD etc.) related to Croatia. For the other XfD's, the process is the same as AfD (except {{Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/PageName}} is used for MFD and {{transclude xfd}} for the rest). For PRODs, adding a link with {{prodded}} will suffice.
- Further information
- For further information see Wikipedia's deletion policy and WP:AfD for general information about Articles for Deletion, including a list of article deletions sorted by day of nomination.
This list is also part of the larger list of deletion debates related to Europe.

Fictional game related to former Yugoslavia, major WP:GNG issues. Very poorly referenced - current two sources are of dubious reliability and relevance (one of them is a review of a video game that presumably was inspired by this concept); my BEFORE fails to find anything substantial. It has articles in several languages related to that region, but they are as weak or weaker than what we have. If sources exist, they are probably not in English :( There is a chance that the aforementioned video game would be notable, and if so, this could be rewritten - but again, I don't expect this game would have reviews in English. - Comment It's hard to parse non-English sources. But this (unreliable) site[1] appears to link to two reliable sources about the Commodore 64 game. I can't seem to click to them, but I think these might be them: [2][3]. I see this non-English source for the sketch comedy show.[4] I'm not sure that it qualifies as WP:SIGCOV, but we usually find a way to preserve early computer games where they can be verified. - Merge to Top lista nadrealista per WP:ATD. Shooterwalker (talk) 14:39, 4 March 2025 (UTC)
- On the off chance this can be saved/rewritten from the video game perspective, I've added the relevant delsort list. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 02:50, 6 March 2025 (UTC)
- Merge to Top lista nadrealista since this is where the idea originated. Offshoots section looks appropriate. --Tone 18:01, 3 March 2025 (UTC)

Per source assessment table here, none of the sources have demonstrated WP:GNG notability of this subject.

This table may not be a final or consensus view; it may summarize developing consensus, or reflect assessments of a single editor. Created using {{source assess table}}. |
The vast majority of the sources are the pageant's instagram or fansites; only two or three sources are legitimate media, and of those, there is no in-depth coverage. I have relied on some machine translation to assess, but it's apparent that most of the legitimate media stories are just photo spreads of attractive humans. ☆ Bri (talk) 00:38, 1 March 2025 (UTC)

- Keep: Almost every country that has a Miss U. Beauty pageant has a page. See category. Plenty of coverage on this, btw. -Mushy Yank. 15:54, 1 March 2025 (UTC)
- @Mushy Yank: Can you provide 2-3 examples of the in depth RS coverage that you say exists? Without it, the closer will probably treat your reply as a WP:OTHERSTUFF argument, which is non-persuasive. ☆ Bri (talk) 22:03, 1 March 2025 (UTC)
- I don't think so because I am not saying Other Stuff Exists. What I am saying is: this is part of a whole. But OK.
- There is a lot of coverage on individual wins (See numerous News results in Croatia Week (in English), for example, or coverage including but not only consisting of interviews), example 1: https://www.croatiaweek.com/video-miss-universe-croatia-reveals-her-national-costume-and-evening-dress/ or this on the pageant 2024 https://www.index.hr/magazin/clanak/ovo-je-nova-miss-universe-hrvatske/2562658.aspx (the penultimate paragraph mentioning a trend in those pageants, that now include married contestants can be judged of interest from a sociological point of view).
- There are articles in the people/fashion press that list the winners (addressing the subject as a set) example 2: https://www.tportal.hr/magazin/clanak/ljeto-je-pred-nama-evo-gdje-ce-ga-provesti-najljepse-hrvatice-20160620 (see also https://www.tportal.hr/tag/miss-universe-hrvatske).
- There is also regional Croatian coverage such as the articles listed here (from Slobodna Dalmacija ) https://slobodnadalmacija.hr/tag/miss-universe-hrvatske
- Yes a lot of that coverage uses interviews and profiles with pictures but I don't think you can avoid that.
- This article in Gloria about the 2020 pageant: https://www.gloria.hr/gl/scena/zvjezdane-staze/izbor-bez-publike-poljubaca-i-suza-pobjednica-miss-universe-hrvatske-je-mirna-naiia-maric-10090528 Example 2, is decent, though.
- Other (numerous) bylined articles that can be considered acceptable sources (although not great journalism) include things like https://www.nacional.hr/foto-finalistice-natjecanja-miss-universe-hrvatske-u-kupacim-kostimima/ (In Nacional) I will make that Exhibit 3.
- There is coverage in 24sata, Jutarnji list, Narodni list and so on, so I suppose this is can be considered a nationally significant event.
- That's in English and Croatian.
- But you have also Croatian sources in Italian: https://lavoce.hr/cultura-e-spettacoli/mia-e-miss-croazia (for example).
- There is in other words a lot more to source each and every information in the article (and/or to have those that will remain unsourced removed). Cleanup might be required.
- You can also consider this as a list (that has a navigational interest). -Mushy Yank. 22:55, 1 March 2025 (UTC)
