  • The original user account is stale, but the user clearly identifies himself as Peter Clatworthy, Grand Secretary of the Grand Lodge of All England at York, a very small Masonic group considered schismatic by the majority of Freemasons around the world. Apart from the obvious COI, there are further problems with his behavior. The article on the group was AfDed quite a long time ago for absolutely no sourcing available not written by Clatworthy himself (group's blog and webpage). He has since returned and edited as a few different IPs, particularly on Grande Loge de France, where he has about a 16RR (see almost all edits on 3 and 4 October that are not reversions). He seems to think that only people directly involved with a group should be allowed to edit articles on that group, and also feels that WP is more of a place to advertise than anything else (hence calling an article talk page a "widely read forum"). User has engaged in blatant legal threats on the same article talk page (redacted by an admin so I can't post them), personal attacks [1], [2], and a blatant statement of intent to hire a paid individual for the organization strictly to correct biases on Wikipedia [3], which is a ROLE violation. RFCU to establish feasibility of a rangeblock with consideration of extent of collateral damage from so doing. MSJapan (talk) 17:31, 6 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Completed Since these IPs all belong to British Telecom, we can expect a large amount of collateral damage; for example, I looked at the 86.164.147.174/16 range and found that hundreds of edits had been made just in the last few months. Furthermore, given the range disparities between these IPs, a rangeblock would be unsuccessful in preventing this user from continued edit warring. We will have to block these users as they come.
