Unnecessarily redundant qualifier. Either Simon Andrews (motorcycle racer) or Simon Andrews (British motorcycle racer) would have been okay, but no one is going to search for this title. A previous attempt at speedy deletion by mine was declined, which I found surprising. Dsuke1998AEOS (talk) 21:00, 20 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete per nom. I also find that speedy deletion decline (by GB fan) surprising given the edit summary moving it away from this title (by the page creator, 8 minutes after creating it) was "Copied too much from the Disambig page", but it's possible I'm missing something. As someone acting in good faith has stated they don't think this meets the speedy deletion criteria it does not, so listing it here is correct and it shouldn't be speedied now. I speedy-deleted this as WP:R3, "a recently-created redirect from an implausible typo or misnomer", nominated by Fram. Slowking Man has asked me to undelete it and bring it here instead, so here it is. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 15:09, 20 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete, very unlikely misspelling. Fram (talk) 15:12, 20 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete as improbable, not a single hit on Google. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 15:21, 20 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
  • My argument: it's a foreign-language loanword, with phonemes unfamiliar to non-German speakers; this is attempting to catch people trying to puzzle out a phonetic spelling of the word, when there is only one conceivable answer to what they're attempting to spell. I swear once upon a time I saw something on a project page somewhere saying something like, "Redirects lessen the chance of someone typing something into the Wikipedia search box, hitting "search", and winding up staring blankly at a results page saying 'No results found for X'"—but I can't seem to track it down. Anyway nothing important but that was my intent. --Slowking Man (talk) 00:33, 21 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep, this is one way to spell it. My dad used the term all the time and I would say that this spelling is close enough to keep as a redirect. Randy Kryn (talk) 01:43, 21 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete, not a realistic spelling error, despite the above assertion, especially in light of JLAN's search. 35.139.154.158 (talk) 16:12, 22 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep this is a perfectly plausible phonetic spelling by someone unfamiliar with German orthography. It's not in the way of anything or otherwise harmful, so there is no benefit to deletion. Thryduulf (talk) 19:14, 22 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
    No it's not. 35.139.154.158 (talk) 20:55, 22 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
As someone only passingly familiar with German orthography but is familiar with English people trying to pronounce German words my experience is that this is the sort of spelling someone would attempt. Google results are always going to be incomplete for things like this as very few get written down in any indexable form - they get entered into search boxes, spell checkers and similar but if they then write about it they use the correct spelling they found after using their incorrect search term. So unless you have some sort of evidence to back up your assertion that this is not helpful, WP:R#KEEP point 5 applies. Thryduulf (talk) 21:56, 22 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
This is not how people pronounce this at all, both the placement of the "h" and the "ue" are way off. Fram (talk) 08:16, 24 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
My dad's use was just about how this is spelled. Fram, you are guessing when others are writing from experience. Surprised this is even still being discussed, an obvious Keep. Randy Kryn (talk) 11:50, 27 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think we should really cater to people who pronounce words incorrectly in three different ways. Fram (talk) 12:40, 27 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
If they are searching for a word and misspell it, that's what redirects are for. Especially spelling words not native to English. This redirect is fine and does the job that redirects are meant to do. Randy Kryn (talk) 23:06, 27 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was delete. There is rough consensus for deletion here. While it could be a typo, not every typo'd variation of a term/subject is covered by Wikipedia. TheSandDoctor Talk 06:05, 3 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete there are a small handful of instances of this typo in talk space, but not every typo needs a redirect and I can't find evidence that this one is more common than the average. Thryduulf (talk) 14:40, 20 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

No information about the 2025 final at the target, making is misleading for anybody who searches this term and expects to find information. The 2025 article also does not exist, so no valid retarget option from my perspective. Hey man im josh (talk) 13:57, 20 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

This is a separate body from World Draughts Federation (FMJD) which it targets. According to its old website and new website IDF is a breakaway faction of FMJD. In my opinion, it should exist as a redlink to allow creation of a future article, rather than redirecting to a different organisation it no longer associates with. I am pretty sure "Slayville" is a joke but even if it is not I can find no usage of this. Rusalkii (talk) 07:36, 20 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete, this redirect and directly related pages appears to be the only use on the internet of "Slayvillle" with three "l"s, and this RfD the only use on Wikipedia of "Slayville" with two "l"s. The latter does get hits on Google, but nothing obviously relevant; "Slayville Metro" gets exactly zero results on Google, while "Slayville" "Metro" does find results but only one of them appears to be actually relevant to that search term - a comedy TikTok about the "M train" (presumably M (New York City Subway service)). APT.

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was Keep. Thryduulf (talk) 01:01, 28 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The only thing "APT." refers to commonly (with both the specific capitalization and the period) is Apt. (song). Other uses either do not have the period (APT (software)) or are not uppercase (abbreviation for "apartment"). Suggest retargeting to the song. Elli (talk | contribs) 03:08, 20 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

  • Week delete, though changing redirect is also acceptable. Looking at the links, this looks like it was probably just a mistake where someone included the period when they didn't mean to. This doesn't necessarily look like it is useful to someone. guninvalid (talk) 06:50, 20 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. Not a mistake, I originally created this redirect because the Korean horror film is stylised this way in some sources. Since Apt. redirects to the dab page and not the recent song, I'm inclined to think that things should stay as they are. PC78 (talk) 15:21, 20 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per PC78. - Presidentman talk · contribs (Talkback) 17:15, 20 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. The song is not significant enough to warrant direct redirection. thetechie@enwiki (she/they | talk) 19:45, 20 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget (alongside Apt.) to the song. Looking at the all time page views for the similar Apt.[1] and it's very obvious that this redirect was barely used until the song came out, when it experiences a massive spike in views that has stayed pretty high ever since. Additionally, it's the only thing on this list officially known as APT. Finally, while the film Apateu is stylized like this in some sources, the song is stylized like this in the vast majority of sources. It absolutely shouldn't be deleted because, um... it, complete with the full stop, is the official name of the song. Of course it's a likely search term.
