Guideline and policy news

• Following an RFC, Wikipedia:Notability (species) was adopted as a subject-specific notability guideline.
• A request for comment is open to discuss whether admins should be advised to warn users rather than issue no-warning blocks to those who have posted promotional content outside of article space.

Technical news

• The Nuke feature also now provides links to the userpage of the user whose pages were deleted, and to the pages which were not selected for deletion, after page deletions are queued. This enables easier follow-up admin-actions.

Arbitration

SunloungerFrog - Interesting move. FYI, I've been an editor on Wikipedia since 2005, and I'm also Administrator; thus the use of the template wording in to suggest learning about creating articles was bewildering. Your move of stub article Russell Wiggins (actor) to draft space was surprising; being made after only a few days. (Note that there are quite a few stub articles with only IMDb in the external links.) That said, I've expanded the article in Draft space and would like it moved back to main space. I apologise that you felt slighted by my using a standard user warning template - there is only the one for draftifying articles, I think. I've taken a look at Draft:Russell Wiggins (actor). It is of course better sourced, though I'd say that none of the sources that I could access myself (unfortunately the book and the TCM sources weren't available to me) constituted significant coverage. • A series of 22 mini-RFCs that double-checked consensus on some aspects and improved certain parts of the administrator elections process has been closed (see the summary of the changes).

• A new filter has been added to the Special:Nuke tool, which allows administrators to filter for pages in a range of page sizes (in bytes). This allows, for example, deleting pages only of a certain size or below. T378488
