About the article Marion Bartoli
I don't know why you deleted my information in her article? I know you think my english is incorrect and poor, but I want to tell you: I'm trying to improve my english yet.
Also, I know the truth of FED Cup 2004 final (France VS Russia) after. She didn't play all matches in this tournament of next year (2005) because she was suspended by new team leader Georges Goven with Emilie Loit - they lost to Anastasia Myskina & Vera Zvonareva in last one doubles match, as a result France didn't defend their trophy and previous team leader Guy Forget was resigned. This is true!!
Also, you said that Marion was not "suspended" in 2005, Goven chose between Golovin and her on US Open performances. But the problem is US Open (personal match) as different from FED Cup (team match for their country)!! They are no relationships!!
Can you think about it first please?--Pierce (talk) 17:23, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
Why I deleted it
I deleted it because there is no proof. If she was "on suspension" why was Goven on record in the French press at the time explaining he was considering Bartoli for the 2005 semifinal? If he'd "suspended" her for the loss he wouldn't even mention her in the decision making process. If you mean she "wasn't chosen" for any matches in 2005, then that is true but it's because she was injured in the Spring, wasn't in form for the second match and Golovin was playing better at the end of the year. That is highlighted by Goven saying he picked Golovin over Bartoli because he thought she did better at the US Open, which is fair enough (I think Goven is biased because he used to coach Dechy and Golovin, but I can't put that on wikipedia because there's no proof).
Of course there's a relationship between the Fed Cup (team) and US Open (singles) - you pick players in the best form going into a team tournament and the US Open was the last major event prior to the Fed Cup semifinal. This is why there was a fuss when Marion didn't play this year, she'd just done well at Wimbledon ("personal match") so people expected her in the Fed Cup (team match) - there is a direct correlation between the two and if there weren't Goven wouldn't be doing his job properly. If you cite a link from a reputable source with Goven officially suspending Bartoli in 2005 because of the loss I won't edit your information, but I have already found links of Goven explaining the decision to pick someone else and he wouldn't do that if he'd suspended her.
p.s. Forget didn't resign because France lost, he resigned because he was the Davis Cup captain as well and there were going to be scheduling conflicts in 2005 and he wouldn't be able to do both jobs. It's very well documented.
Response
Thank your for you explaination, but I didn't hear Goven on record in the French press at the time explaining he was considering Bartoli for the 2005 semifinal.
Also, I remember that Forget want to resign when he want to response for he uses unsuitable players to play the last deciding doubles match only.--Pierce (talk) 13:22, 26 April 2009 (UTC)
