I have recently become extremely busy with schoolwork these days. Got a lot of exams to prepare for basically every week. Because of this, I haven't been able to focus on Wiki much (besides the end of the day, but the time then is also minimized too), and the situation isn't going to get better next year. As such, multitasking between school and Wikipedia has become increasingly difficult and in order for me to reach my purpose of graduating at the top of the HS class in a few years, I'm going to have to lessen my time here significantly.
I obviously have enjoyed my four-year journey here (and approaching five–wow!) and have learned a lot from others along the way. I have suffered heartbreak but also joy and a feeling of belonging here–something I have been really, really grateful for. With that said, the fact that more and more schoolwork and extracurricular activities are unfortunately beginning to deplete a lot of my free time I once had.
I'm not going off Wikipedia completely just yet–that'd be a shame. But it doesn't feel like I'll reach editing levels I once had, as aforementioned. I will be around to make some quick fixes and improve some of the articles on my to-do list. And I definitely could attend a few WikiCon events in the future. But it's a saddening thought that retirement from here is not out of the question. It just feels saddening to leave this project I had dedicated myself to so much over the past four years. I can't leave some people who have helped my out–and some that I myself have helped out. The encyclopedia is not even close to completion either. I can't leave without making a further push to try and make an effort to resolve this issue. But then also, there's a possibility I might wriggle out of this mess and come back to Wiki without off-wiki obstacles. Just maybe...no guarantee though.
As a result, I am officially announcing my semi-retirement from this project. It's just an unfortunate reality to do this, but there's other off-wiki activities I have to fulfill as well. I thank everyone who's made an impact to me along this journey and never stop editing.
With love,
Tails Wx
