Cannot find any significant coverage that discusses this single in detail. Plenty of database mentions, but nothing substantial. As far as I can tell, it is an uncharting single. -- Mike 🗩 20:56, 7 March 2025 (UTC)

Escapism (Antic Cafe song) (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) – (View AfD | edits since nomination)
(Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL)

The article completely fails notability and verifiability guidelines. One source is cited and it is just the chart position of the song. Internet searches and searches on Google Books and Google News return no reliable sources about the song (everything is lyrics and fandom pages.) The article itself is 3 sentences and has not been edited since 2022, which was not related to the content of the article but a redirect since there is now a more notable song called "Escapism."
Checking the "What links here" returns only articles relating to the same band, and most of those are because links in the template count for this. Thus, deleting the article will not meaningfully impact Wikipedia. For five more minutes...it's just a single vice 16:50, 7 March 2025 (UTC)

I am unable to find any independent coverage of this album, nor any evidence of chart appearances, certifications, or major awards. Their previous album, The Boarder's Door, was released by a notable label, which seemingly explains the disparity in coverage between the two. JTtheOG (talk) 01:21, 6 March 2025 (UTC)

This had been successfully nominated for deletion in 2011, but never was deleted. The article should be merged into the article on the singer because it cites no RS and is undue. PlotinusEnjoyer (talk) 03:27, 5 March 2025 (UTC)

  • Note: This discussion has been included in the deletion sorting lists for the following topics: Women, Albums and songs, and Czech Republic. PlotinusEnjoyer (talk) 03:27, 5 March 2025 (UTC)
  • Comment according to the logs it was deleted in 2011 but re-created in 2019. And the comment "it cites no RS" seems to not hold true either. Not only is there a source at the page, there is the Czech page with additional sources. So, before going into this further, what is the reason for deleting this page? C679 11:41, 5 March 2025 (UTC)
  • Delete, or possibly redirect to the singer's article if "discography" is a likely search term. There really are no relaible sources on this page. The one footnote is to a directory listing for the singer's larger career and is not relevant for a list of every single one of her releases. The equivalent Czech WP article [1] is also dependent on sources that are either unreliable, or if they're reliable they are also about the singer and still do not support the all the items in this list. Regardless, she has a great number of releases over a long successful career, but presenting the list in this fashion possibly violates WP:NOTDIRECTORY and we could cite WP:READABILITY too. The singer's article has a helpful list of studio albums and that is sufficient. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (TALK|CONTRIBS) 13:32, 5 March 2025 (UTC)
  • Keep. There is a long-standing tradition to split discographies into separate pages, see Category:Pop music discographies. And yes there are reliable sources. Also, all items are individually searchable and verifiable; it is an extremely popular singer in Czech lands. Take a random on: "Poslední šantán / Obraz smutný slečny". --Altenmann >talk 17:05, 5 March 2025 (UTC)

keep. WP:BEFORE search found these sources:
    Complex
    Consequence
    B*llboard
    Pitchfork
    NME NO SIGCOV
    Rolling Stone
All of them (not sure about Complex) are RELIABLE RSES, with some of them having SIGCOV of the song. brachy08 (chat here lol) 00:10, 3 March 2025 (UTC)

Per WP:NSONG, Coverage of a song in the context of an album review does not establish notability. If the only coverage of a song occurs in the context of reviews of the album on which it appears, that material should be contained in the album article and an independent article about the song should not be created. 3/6 of these sources are album reviews, NME has it as a passing mention, Consequence also has it as a passing mention (in the context that Earl performed on stage with him, one of the songs being Rusty) leaving the Complex source, which is not clear as a reliable source, and does not provide significant coverage. jolielover♥talk 05:16, 4 March 2025 (UTC)

The discussion is about whether or not the song is notable. It is not notable. No amount of editing can make a subject "notable". λ NegativeMP1 22:16, 1 March 2025 (UTC)
Hi there, Wikipedia isn't targeting you, it's just that there are quite a lot of guidelines and policies to adhere to. In terms of notability, the song does not meet the requirements (WP:NSONG). jolielover♥talk 03:12, 2 March 2025 (UTC)

I thought it was pretty notable. What makes Rusty any less notable then songs such as Gone, Gone /Thank You or Tamale? both of which count as notable. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Booksandarticles (talk • contribs) 12:22, 2 March 2025 (UTC)

Notability isn't derived from opinions, there's a guideline in place for songs (WP:NSONG) and a quick google search finds hardly any sources on this song, only passing mentions of it in general news about the album/live performances. The difference in the other examples you mentioned is that they do appear to have significant coverage. Tamale, for example, got quick a lot due to its provocative lyrics and music video. Gone, Gone / Thank You also has some notability to have a page due to it charting in a few countries and earning some certifications. jolielover♥talk 15:39, 2 March 2025 (UTC)

  • Delete based on the existing sources.
    • Complex has a paragraph of coverage, just barely significant IMO.
    • Consequence only mentions that the song was performed. Trivial coverage.
    • Billboard is an album review, which doesn't contribute to notability per WP:NSONG.
    • Pitchfork, also an album review.
    • Rolling Stone, another album review.
With a single usable source (Complex), it doesn't pass NSONG. Please ping me if new sources show up. Astaire (talk) 01:28, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
  • Draftify and redirect to Wolf (Tyler, the Creator album). There is some coverage. Not enough for an article, as shown by the above commenters. Maybe it could be an article in the future if someone can find more coverage. In the meantime we can add some more content about the song into the article about the album. The approach should be to improve documents by allowing other users to contribute and add more information on it, per WP:BEFORE, rather than simply removing it just because it does not adhere to regulations. Camilasdandelions (talk!) 14:58, 28 February 2025 (UTC)
Keep. No inherent problems aside from being a relatively obscure single. Agreed with Camila. DemocracyDeprivationDisorder (talk) 07:58, 1 March 2025 (UTC)
  • comment As mentioned, an obscure single. It would be absurd to maintau=in than every song ever recorded merits an article; in most case (including this one) what there is to say about it can readily be includee in the articler on the album on which it appears. The actual content of this article is almost zero.TheLongTone (talk) 14:39, 5 March 2025 (UTC)
  • Merge to All My Demons Greeting Me as a Friend. Per WP:NSONG, "If the only coverage of a song [or single] occurs in the context of reviews of the album on which it appears, that material should be contained in the album article and an independent article about the song should not be created." I can find a little about this song outside reviews of the album, but not enough to constitute SIGCOV. This book in Ukrainian [2] has a para which translates in part as "AURORA in the visual composition “Winter Bird”. Her “tears are forever frozen”, because she is in a state of permafrost and does not know how to cry and who can give her this sensuality to cry. However, intuitively she ..." (per Google Translate - I do not read Ukrainian). This book in German [3] about drones has a sentence about the video accompanying the single, in which drones build a cocoon around the singer. Of the sources in the article, 1 has a full sentence about this song on the album, and 2 others have half a sentence about it, also in reviews of the full length album. So not enough for its own article, as far as I can see. RebeccaGreen (talk) 11:39, 7 March 2025 (UTC)
