John Leslie Thomson (22 April 1851 - 23 February 1929) was a Scottish painter.[1][2]
Life
His father was George Thomson (born c. 1817), a merchant shipowner from Aberdeenshire.
His mother was Elizabeth Simpson Duguid (c. 1823 - 1894) from Aberdeen. George and Elizabeth married on 25 April 1844 in Maryculter, Aberdeenshire.
John Leslie Thomson was born on 22 April 1851 in Old Machar, Aberdeen.
He married Beatrice Butts Howell (born c. 1873) from Hokkaido, Japan. Her parents moved from Japan to Belmont, Sydenhamhill in London. John and Beatrice married on 14 September 1904 at the church of St. Bartholomew in Sydenham.[3]

He died on 23 February 1929 at 9a St. Abbot's Place, Kensington, in London.[4]
He was buried on 27 February 1929 at Camberwell Old cemetery.[5]
