Sneha Kapoor is a Salsa dancer, choreographer, and instructor. She is popularly known as "The Indian Salsa Princess".[1] Now living in Mumbai, she began her career in dance with a dance company in Bangalore 5 years ago. It was the beginning of a career that embraced different dance forms like Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, Jive, Hip-Hop, Adigio and Bollywood.

She made a remarkable come back in the reality television show “India's Got Talent” after a road accident fractured her leg in three places.[1] She made it into the finals and executed some of the most difficult acrobatic moves with grace and artistry.[citation needed] The viewers were impressed by her looks and performance.[citation needed]

Career

During her tenure at a school in Bangalore, Sneha and her dance partner bagged several awards and trophies in salsa championships across the world.

They include:

  • Winner of the Australian Salsa Classic 2007, Sydney[2]
  • Winner of the European Salsa Masters 2007, UK [3]
  • 1st Runner Up at the Asian Open Salsa Championships 2007, Hong Kong
  • Semi-finalist at the ESPN World Salsa Championships 2007, Orlando Florida

Sneha was one of the choreographers for the reality show “Jhalak Dikhlaja Season 4". She worked with her partner, national Boxing champion Akhil Kumar.

Sneha broke a Guinness World Record for "Most Number of Swing Dance Flips in a Minute".[4] The record of 33 flips in a minute was set four years ago in UK, but Sneha and her team of three dancers set the new record at 39 flips.

Sneha was among the top 15 contestants of the dance reality show "Dance India Dance" on Zee TV.
