My full real name is Richard David Gill. I'm an emeritus professor in mathematical statistics at the University of Leiden. I often call myself gill1109 (.mac, twitter/X, .gmail,..) since my birthday is 9-11; in fact my 50th birthday was THE 9-11. My home page at Leiden University is much out of date. I have a blog https://gill1109.com and as a retiree I have a one-man statistical consultancy firm. It usually works for free since I only take on scientifically interesting projects.
Long, long ago, someone put me on Wikipedia itself. I corrected some obvious errors and also helped to disambiguate myself from all the other Richard Gills: Richard D. Gill (mathematician) .
Here's my user page Gill110951 on Dutch wikipedia.
I once played with Userboxes, see my talk page. I created Bernoulli Society, IMS, ISI, VVS-OR, and KMG. As well as modified some popular statistics userboxes.
Presently I’m strongly involved in the ongoing campaign to grant UK nurse Lucy Letby a fair retrial, since I am deeply convinced she is innocent. This means I have a major conflict of interest regarding the various Wikipedia articles associated with the case. I may occasionally bring properly sourced factual material to the attention of other editors on talk pages.
