Tate's Bake Shop, Inc. is a baked goods manufacturer headquartered in Westhampton Beach, New York.[1] It was founded by Kathleen King in Southampton, New York in 2000[2] and, as of 2023, manufactures chocolate chip cookies and cookie bark (cookie pieces covered in chocolate).[3]
History
Founder Kathleen King had previously operated a cookie company in Southampton, Kathleen's Bake Shop, which was taken over by her business partners in 1999. King regained ownership of the manufacturing facility in court but lost ownership of the company name; she reestablished her company as Tate's Bake Shop, using her father's nickname Tate, in 2000.[2]
Tate's Bake Shop moved its corporate headquarters to Westhampton Beach, New York in 2015.[4]
The company was sold to Mondelez International in 2018 for US$500 million[5] and operates independently.[6]
