Used to be, when African-Americans were a minority in the city of Olympia Fields, they were not allowed as members of the Country Club. Wonder if that has changed now that African-Americans are the majority in the city.

COI edit request

  • Specific text to be added or removed: Remove the citation needed template following "The club was founded [...]. The main dining room of the club is named in his honor." - see the references I linked below. Add "The club also has areas for swimming and tennis for members and their guests." at the end of the history section.
  • Reason for the change: The pool and tennis courts are significant areas of the club that are often enjoyed by members.
  • References supporting change: Pool and tennis courts can be seen in the picture here. Stagg Room reference can be found here with some supporting evidence here.

I am a member of the club - I'd like to propose two edits, #1 I can confirm the main dining room is in fact named after Amos Stagg, and #2 I'd like to add that the club also has areas for swimming and tennis. All of this is from my personal experience at the club. Not really sure what else I can say/add here but please let me know what you think. G o m m e h 15:38, 19 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
