Pronunciation
(Moved to bottom of page per standard talk page protocol)
Could someone please provide the phonetic pronunciation of this name? GWA-lay? Goo-ALE? Goo-ah-LAY? GWALE? 97.102.30.205 (talk) 14:08, 26 January 2022 (UTC)
- "Guale" is the way the Spanish transcribed the name in the 16th century, so "Gwa-lay" would be my guess, but I do not think we can authoritatively state the native pronunciation. - Donald Albury 17:59, 26 January 2022 (UTC)

- Oppose I don't see anything that would justify a separate article on the language. Unless someone can point to reliable sources that actually discuss the language beyond vague guesses as to which language family it belonged to, there is nothing on which to base such an article. - Donald Albury 12:45, 2 August 2024 (UTC)

which proposes it to be Muskogean on the basis of two words. There isn't really much information on the language itself, and the two words could easily have been loanworss, so no definite classification can be proposed. 🪐Kepler-1229b | talk | contribs🪐 00:01, 7 August 2024 (UTC)

- Oppose Not enough info for the language, if it reaches the point where there is, then yes, but not now.
