Strong Style Evolved UK is an upcoming two-day professional wrestling event promoted by New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW). The event will take place on June 30 and July 1, 2018 at the Planet Ice Arena in Milton Keynes, England[1] and the Altrincham Ice Dome in Altrincham, Greater Manchester, England.[2] The event will be themed around Chaos vs. Suzuki-gun matchesCite error: The <ref> tag has too many names (see the help page). and will feature the participation of wrestlers from NJPW's British partner Revolution Pro Wrestling (RPW).

Background

On March 25, 2018, NJPW held Strong Style Evolved at the Walter Pyramid in Long Beach, California, U.S.[3] The following day on March 26, NJPW announced the follow up to Strong Style Evolved, Strong Style Evolved UK, occurring on June 30 and July 1.[4][5] The event will be held in conjunction with NJPW's British partner RPW; the two promotions had established a working relationships in 2015 as a part of NJPW's "New IWGP Conception."[6][7][8]

Tickets for the event were put on pre-sale on March 27 and 29.[9] Tickets for meet-and-greets were also later put on sale.[10][11]

On May 3, it was announced that Kazuchika Okada would take part in the event.[9] Later in May and June, it was annnounced that Tomohiro Ishii,[12] Taiji Ishimori,[13] Minoru Suzuki,[14] Toru Yano,[15] Yuji Nagata,[16] Will Ospreay,[17] Taichi,[18] Jay White,[19] Shota Umino,[20] Zack Sabre Jr.,[21] Takashi Iizuka,[22] and NJPW LA Dojo graduate Dan Duggan would be participating at the event.

The event will air on the NJPW World and RPW On Demand streaming services, and will feature English commentary from Kevin Kelly.[23]

On June 11, NJPW and RPW began revealing matches for the event.[24][25][26]

Storylines

Night 1

At Dominion 6.9 in Osaka-jo Hall Minoru Suzuki and Zack Sabre Jr. defeated Tomohiro Ishii and Toru Yano. After the match Suzuki and Ishii brawled because of this Suzuki and Sabre Jr. will defend the RPW Undisputed British Tag Team Championship against Kazuchika Okada and Ishii.

During the 25th Best of the Super Juniors tournament Yoshinobu Kanemaru defeated Will Ospreay. The match was then made because of Kanemaru’s victory.

Night 2

At Dominion 6.9 in Osaka-jo Hall, Tomohiro Ishii lost a tag team match to Minoru Suzuki. After the match Suzuki and Ishii brawled because of this not only was a tag team title match was made but another match where Ishii will defend the RPW British Heavyweight Championship against Suzuki.
