Holly Grove Christian School is a Christian private school located in Westover, Somerset County, Maryland. The school was established in 1976 by Holly Grove Mennonite Church as a one-room schoolhouse[2][4].

Academics

Lower School

Holly Grove offers PreK4 - 6th Grade classes in a traditional Elementary School format, with two sections per grade of about 20 students each.

Pre-K4 and K-5 (Kindergarten) both emphasize Christian values and promote development in many areas[5]

Grades 1-6 continue to promote Christianity while following a standard curriculum.[5]

Middle and High School

Holly Grove offers core subject classes for middle and high school students as well as elective classes[6]. These electives include Business, Music, Art, and Spanish 1-3. Spanish is the only in-person foreign language offered at Holly Grove. Holly Grove's in-person AP offerings include Literature, Language, Statistics, Calculus AB, Physics, and US History. Holly Grove also offers online AP and non-AP classes through Sevenstar.

History

Holly Grove was originally established in 1976 as a one-room schoolhouse serving grades 2-8[2]. A new building was built behind Holly Grove Mennonite Church in 1981 to house the school. 9th grade was added in 1994 before a high school wing was added to the school in 2001. The school was accredited by ACSI in 2010 and renewed its accreditation in 2017.
