- Germany beats Ecuador 3-0, with the teams ending in first and second place respectively in Group A. Klose scores twice for Germany and surpasses Spain's Fernando Torres as the competition's top scorer so far with four goals.
- Poland beats Costa Rica 2-1, with the teams ending in third and fourth place respectively in Group A.
- Spain qualifies for the last 16 by beating Tunisia 3-1. Two goals were scored by Fernando Torres, making him the top scorer so far in the 2006 FIFA World Cup with three goals in two games.
- Ukraine beats Saudi Arabia 4-0. Each goal was scored by a different Ukrainian player.
- Switzerland defeats Togo 2-0, to take first place in the group. The result means that Togo cannot proceed to the last 16.
