Welcome to the WikiProject U2 April 2013 roll call. In order to keep us up-to-date on our number of active members, we will have this thread up for the entire month of April (2013), allowing editors to add their signatures to the list. This way we can gauge our number of active contributors and update the members section accordingly. We have already taken the liberty of going through the list and moving a number of editors to the "Inactive" section. All of these were editors who had either been banned, retired, or had not made an edit to Wikipedia in over a year. Having a monthly roll call will make this easier.

• It's also worth noting that there is a Category:WikiProject U2 members. If you have the project userbox on your user page, then you appear in the category automatically. If you choose not to place the userbox on your page, you can still add yourself to the category by placing [[Category:WikiProject U2 members]] on your user page. As a courtesy, if you are leaving the project, retiring from Wikipedia, or simply no longer active in the WikiProject, please remove the userbox from your user page. This will remove you from the category and help the project to keep its active membership list up-to-date.

• If you have not already done so, please add your name and interests to the members section of the project. Longtime members should revisit the page, as it has been revised. Consider adding a brief summary of your U2-related Wikipedia interests next to your name. This assists with collaboration and allows other editors to seek out help in particular subject areas.

There are several U2 articles which are relatively close to featured article status, in my opinion (or at least, they were prior to my relatively lengthy absence). These could, I think, be promoted without an excessive amount of difficulty. They are:

1. U2 concert in Sarajevo
2. "Stay (Faraway, So Close!)"
3. "Exit"
4. "So Cruel"
5. "Love Is Blindness"

Most of these are already close to the FA standard; in the case of the song articles, all that they are missing is composition information (as presented in "City of Blinding Lights", "Mothers of the Disappeared", and "One Tree Hill" for examples on what is needed). I can't read music beyond identifying beats per minute and the time signature, so if anyone is able to assist on that front it would be appreciated.

In addition, while the project is looking at bringing Bono and The Edge to GA, I'd like to see Larry Mullen, Jr. and Adam Clayton given a Good Article Reassessment. Both were promoted in September 2007, five and a half years ago, and the standards have changed dramatically in that time. I think a GAR would be the most effective way to see what the articles need to actually be at the Good Article quality threshold. Thoughts? I think it is a good idea to update the Tasks section at Wikipedia:WikiProject U2/rightpanel by adding this "work plan" (or parts of it), and also to add these pages (all or part of) to the collaboration of the fortnight department. Dream out loud, I'm not sure, but is it possible to replace the image with a blanked version (a transparent PNG, the star with the target but without the three images, or File:Original Barnstar Hires.png) while we are waiting for the new version (which will surely come :D)? In this way we avoid Cullen getting a file deletion on his log.←(I was too late with this; the file has been deleted.)
