Jeffrey Caissie page
Hi, I am Jeffrey Caissie and I am very much alive, please delete that page, it is a cruel joke. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 161.184.109.80 (talk) 19:02, 23 March 2010 (UTC)
- Please point out the inaccuracies in the page with the {{fact}} tag. Blanchardb -Me•MyEars•MyMouth- timed 19:04, 23 March 2010 (UTC)
I don't know ANYTHING about wikipedia, all I know is when you google my name this is the first entry that comes up. Family members, etc have been freaking out. Please just delete the entire page...? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 161.184.109.80 (talk) 19:06, 23 March 2010 (UTC)
- Then that means the article is not about you. That means the article stays. -- Blanchardb -Me•MyEars•MyMouth- timed 19:07, 23 March 2010 (UTC)
It IS me, I put out those albums, etc. Can I provide some kind of proof that this is me? Tell me what to provide and I will. For crying out loud "Boni" is the name of may cat NOT a child! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 161.184.109.80 (talk) 19:10, 23 March 2010 (UTC)
- Blanch, technically taken his death was added by an IP user and subsequently reverted. The IP user later added it again, stating the (main page) of calgarysun.com, and not a specific article. When searching, i cannot find any article regarding this subject, and seeing this is just a year old, i question if it was ever registered. In my eyes this is quite the WP:BLP issue though. We have no source to confirm this information at all. Excirial (Contact me,Contribs) 19:10, 23 March 2010 (UTC)
- So let's delete the offending part, not the entire article... -- Blanchardb -Me•MyEars•MyMouth- timed 19:13, 23 March 2010 (UTC)
Even THAT would be ideal, just please take off the death dates-it's terrible. Jeff Caissie
- Done. -- Blanchardb -Me•MyEars•MyMouth- timed 19:16, 23 March 2010 (UTC)
Thank you, there is a still a date of death on the right hand side box thing... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 161.184.109.80 (talk) 19:23, 23 March 2010 (UTC)
BLP issue - user claiming to be article subject.
Hi moon,
I noticed you were editing, so i hope you don't mind if i ask your assistance with a BLP article and someone claiming to be the subject of the article? It seems we have an IP user claiming to be Jeffrey Caissie, and he requests that his page should be removed due to inaccuracies. Im not sure if it is true or not, but he complains about the death date, and about the name of his daughter (Incidentally the daughter would be his cat, and since he is talking he obviously never died). An IP added this information along with the mainpage of a newspaper, though i cannot seem to find the particular article, even though it should just be a year old. Seeing it is not being handled in the most "optimal" way so far, might i ask if you have some time for this? If you do, this is the talkpage with the discussion. Kind regards, Excirial (Contact me,Contribs) 19:18, 23 March 2010 (UTC)
- Another one? :O Okay. I'll come see what I can do. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 19:19, 23 March 2010 (UTC)
- How very bizarre is this? I guess when he found the vandalized article, he thought to just undermine it completely? In any event, it seems that the article is being cleaned up, and I've left him some potentially useful links. Good job figuring out where the "death" information entered; does seem to have been vandalism! --Moonriddengirl (talk) 19:30, 23 March 2010 (UTC)
- Thank you. It seems that the situation improved quite a bit during the time i was typing, but i is a good thing you left the user a short note. There is nothing like figuring out you are apparently being a corpse, and subsequently running in the problem that you have no clue as to how this should be undone. I have no clue if this was an attempt to delete the article, or if this was just vandalism utilizing the lack of a reliable source. Even so, the information was completely unsourced, so whatever the reason - the article is cleaned up :). Excirial (Contact me,Contribs) 19:50, 23 March 2010 (UTC)

Apparent vandalism
Thank you for pointing the issue with the article. The problem I saw was that the subject was requesting the deletion of the entire article on invalid grounds. Huggle gave me no way to see that the article was claiming that this person was dead, given where he wrote his comments. I have removed all user warnings from his talk page, and the dubious information as well.
As an aside, the article has a notability tag, but I think this person passes our notability guidelines, albeit barely. As for the offender, it is way too late to issue user warnings, especially given that the edits were anonymous. But I think we should keep the article under watch, just in case. -- Blanchardb -Me•MyEars•MyMouth- timed 19:32, 23 March 2010 (UTC)
- It seems to have been added a long time ago, so i think the article has an equal risk of being vandalized as any other BLP page. Requesting deletion of an entire page seems to be a common response people give when they see inaccurate information, and seeing the sourcing i figured i might as well try and look it up. On the first glance it looked like vandalism though, and the only reason why i presumed this might not be a vandal was his persistence on your talk page. Thanks for removing the content though - that saves me a few minutes of doing so. :) Excirial (Contact me,Contribs) 19:50, 23 March 2010 (UTC)

English as first foreign language
Hello, I added one third party source in the External link with an article about the initiative ... There is also an article on attac.org but the site seems to be down for the moment. I replaced the goals with an achvements section. Now anyone can add to the article ... maybe I shouldn't be the only contributor ... However, I hope it is sufficiently adequate for now not to be deleted. Thx --Mahdi.mrabet (talk) 06:58, 27 March 2010 (UTC)
- I don't know about that source. It looks to me like a blog, that is, something without a formal review. If that's the case, then it fails our criteria for reliability of sources for encyclopedic purposes. -- Blanchardb -Me•MyEars•MyMouth- timed 14:09, 27 March 2010 (UTC)
Hello again, I am the creator of the page "English as first foreign language" User:mahdi.mrabet. Following my discussion with User:Nyttend I added a section about the relevence or importance of the subject and I changed a few more things. Then, As User:Nyttend told me I replaced the article when ready.
"The article is now at User:Mahdi.mrabet/English as first foreign language initiative. When you believe that you've demonstrated its importance AND its notability, feel free to move it back to its old title. If you're not sure how to move a page, see Help:Moving a page. Nyttend (talk) 14:49, 27 March 2010 (UTC)"
Followin my discussion with you User Talk:Blanchardb, I added an independent third source about the article which is a news website created and maintained by professional journalists, check it here : Europa 451 About us. I think calling it a "blog" is not accurate. I assume then that I have answered your requirement of an independent third party talking about the initiative. Besides, the initiative is remarkable in what it is trying to achieve and is already known by tens of development organizations. For the promotion issue, I've rewritten the article many times introducing many new angles on the the initiaitve including a "Critique" section and changing, as you required, the "Goals" section by an "Achievement" section. Although, I did not see what was wrong with the article informing about the goals of the initiative ? After all it is an article about the initiaitve, so if you don't know what are the initiative's goals, I don't know how you can have any idea about it.
I consider the notability and importance issues as addressed. You didn't add any specific concerns nor elements about why these issues are not answered. There is nothing promotional about the article, I checked every sentence and every statement is presented as a consideration of the initiative.
Do you still think it should be removed ? I didn't see your comment here until now ... --Mahdi.mrabet (talk) 16:39, 28 March 2010 (UTC)
I am sorry, I have been very harsh with you sometimes ... I didn't know much about the nomination rules at wikipedia and I assumed I was facing a politically motivated censorship ... That's why I momentarilly wrote some "angry" statements that I immediately erased every time ... My apologies ... --Mahdi.mrabet (talk) 17:43, 28 March 2010 (UTC)
Hi, have you thought about becoming an admin? Bearian (talk) 19:51, 29 March 2010 (UTC)
- Actually, I have. Of course I have my flaws as an editor, but then everyone does. Thanks for your consideration. -- Blanchardb -Me•MyEars•MyMouth- timed 23:00, 29 March 2010 (UTC)
