Requests for registration
Please read the quick guide on the main page before requesting permission. In applying for AWB access, you indicate that you will abide by that agreement. Also, this page is for requesting AWB Access for this wiki (English Wikipedia) only. Other projects have their own check pages and you should ask local sysops/administrators to add you there. Thank you.
Names
Please add your name to the bottom of the list using
{{AWBUser|your username}}
~~~~~
(Write your user name exactly as it is, don't add underscores instead of spaces or change the case of the first letter). (That's 5 tildes).- Awaiting approval If the list contains entries that are over 48 hours old, please mention this (nicely) at WP:AN, and an admin should be by shortly to process the requests.
- Note that users with under 500 mainspace edits are RARELY approved. You only need to give a reason for wanting AWB access if you have fewer than 500 mainspace edits!
- If approved, your name will be added to the CheckPage.
Example of code format: * {{AWBUser|Username}} ~~~~~
(5 tildes post the date stamp)
Question: You've fewer than 500 mainspace edits, could you expand on why you need ABW? Thanks. Rodhullandemu 19:04, 29 December 2009 (UTC)
- I'm not sure I need it exactly but I try to make improvements as I go along and I think it would help. And would encourage me to join projects on an equal basis with others. MalcolmMcDonald (talk) 15:45, 3 January 2010 (UTC)
- Better gain some more experience in making edits first. -- Magioladitis (talk) 17:23, 9 January 2010 (UTC)
- I've exceeded 500 edits in total, 352 edits to articles. The number would be many more if I was saving constantly as I went along, but in many cases what appears as one edit is a complete re-write of sections (sometimes entire article). AWB would help me identify articles containing bad spelling, the kind of places where I've done most work. I have made a few changes to heavily patrolled articles but have spent much more time there trying to achieve consensus with "talk" contributions. I was once a dBase II programmer and have a little experience of MS SQL. MalcolmMcDonald (talk) 11:02, 11 January 2010 (UTC)
Done Reviewing your contribs shows that you seems to know what you're doing and on that basis, I've allowed this. Rodhullandemu 17:40, 12 January 2010 (UTC)
- I have just over 100 mainspace edits, but I'd like AWB if you think that's enough... My computer is really slow, and I'd like to be able to correct typos and add reflists more often, because that's the sort of thing I joined Wikipedia to do and I can't really find typos manually. Is that okay? Singlish Speªker ♪♫ 05:19, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
Not done, sorry there's just not enough there to convince us you understand policies. Please reapply when you've a few hundred more edits. Rodhullandemu 17:40, 12 January 2010 (UTC)
