Surname

"Ho (何) is a Cantonese surname in Hong Kong." Ho is a surname not just confined to Hong Kong. It is a Chinese surname.--Huaiwei 11:44, 4 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Feel free to expand the article if necessary. — Instantnood 11:47, Apr 4, 2005 (UTC)

Please don't add "Taiwanese" when it is already stated that it is a Chinese surname. Chinese is the language used in Taiwan. Surnames are culturally and linguistically, not politically based. John F. Kennedy had an Irish surname- that did not make him politically Irish or his surname American.--Jiang 17:46, 14 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The issue is, no Chinese person has the last name "Ho". This last name is specifically Taiwanese. By stating Chinese is neither inappropriate or accurate.--Bonafide.hustla 21:59, 16 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No it is not specifically Taiwanese. I know Cantonese people named Ho. Stanley Ho? Chinese as in culturally Chinese and Chinese language, not politically Chinese. The origin of the name is in China. No one disputes this. Chen Shui-bian does not dispute his ancestors came "from China". He just disputes that he's in China. --Jiang 07:05, 17 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Use by Santa Claus

Alright sunshine, what exactly is the problem with this edit? "Ho, Ho, Ho, 1997 album of Christmas music released by drag queen, singer and actress RuPaul." is (legitimately) an edit, so what could you possibly have against this? The "Ho, Ho, Ho," part of the album is a reference to the use of it as a catchphrase by the mythical character of Santa Claus, so there is no sane reason whatsoever to put it in and not have a reference to Santa Claus. I am sorry if this sounds whimsical or like some sort of joke to you, I'm sorry if you have some sort of mental problems with this, don't take it out on wikipedia. Also I wouldn't have been slightly (at first) rude on your talk page if you hadn't put that stupid automated message on my talk page.

Can you think of any possible, remotely sane reason why it shouldn't be there?

I think you are right. I have put the reference back in and I certainly hope that blatant troll doesn't come back again. Isn't there some way to IP ban his address? Anonywiki 01:17, 19 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
