Hey Another Believer!

Sorry about the corny topic title; coffee was a bit strong.

I'm reaching out to you because I am starting a draft, User:Shortiefourten/The Sentinel (Centralia, Washington statue), about a bronze statue in Centralia. I came across your interest in sculpture when I edited American Doughboy Bringing Home Victory a couple years ago and that connection and your obvious experience/interest has stuck with me. What I'd like to ask - is there a sculpture article in Washington state that you would recommend that would be the absolute best to emulate? There are very few artwork articles in SW WA, so I want to help set a solid precedence for future articles me or others might have in the future for the region.

I know you are busy...how you're knocking on the door of 600k edits is mindboggling...but whenever you have a quick moment, I'd greatly appreciate it.

On a personal note, me and my husband celebrated our anniversary last year at a Seattle restaurant and we chose the locale because we came across a Wiki article that you wrote. That sealed the deal for me. So, if you continue to get grief for your restaurant articles, WP:CANVASS me. I know it's a fraught rule, but damn dude, your work is awesome and reaches people.

@Shortiefourten Wow, thanks! I appreciate your kind words. Indeed, I enjoy finding and writing about public art and sculpture, especially where I live and when I travel. Much of my work has been focused on Portland and Oregon, but I've promoted The Pioneer Mother Memorial (Vancouver) and Soaring Stones, which was relocated to Washington. Also, I was able to find some other Good examples of public art in Washington: Jet Kiss, Pioneer Square totem pole, Safe Return (statue), Statue of Lenin (Seattle), Winged Victory (Lewis). But don't limit yourself to Washington examples! There are many fantastic articles at WikiProject Sculpture. Good luck expanding The Sentinel! If I could offer one suggestion, I say start with grouping text into "Description", "History", and "Reception" sections; these seem to be the foundational sections of entries about individual artworks.

As for restaurants, I'm glad one of "my" entries was helpful to you. I, too, enjoy learning about restaurants on Wikipedia and often look up notable establishments when I travel. I think there are many editors who see restaurants and cuisine from the perspective of culture and history, but certainly there are those who assume that someone must just be attempting to plug a business on a popular website.
