Unverified Twittler accounts are not WP:BLP quality

Unverified Twitter accounts, particularly belonging to Gina Carter and Amy Powell, are in no way reliable secondary sources for assertions in this WP:BLP and I am hereby challenging all the assertions for which they are cited in this article. 24.255.122.9 (talk) 23:44, 21 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Currently, the article contains several examples of alleged crimes such as "Homicide" and "Armed robbery". Per WP:BLPCRIME we cannot repeat these allegations until there are convictions. We have no pleas, no trials, and certainly no convictions. Please adhere to the facts reported in WP:RS such as "gunshot wounds" and police reports. 2600:8800:1880:91E:5604:A6FF:FE38:4B26 (talk) 03:05, 22 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: WP:BLPCRIME applies to individuals who are not public figures; that is, individuals not covered by WP:WELLKNOWN. The subject here is well-known. The only person that WP:BLPCRIME might theoretically cover would be the person accused of the subject's murder. However, that would only be the case if that person's name were not already being discussed and mentioned in other sources, per WP:BLPNAME. I believe in this case the name is being widely discussed.  spintendo  20:01, 23 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
So it's OK for us to accuse and convict him of crimes because WP:BLPNAME doesn't apply? 2600:8800:1880:91E:5604:A6FF:FE38:4B26 (talk) 03:09, 24 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Change to

“On July 25th, a third suspect, Robert Allen, 22, was taken into custody after U.S. Marshals! found him at his sister’s house in rural Georgia. He was booked in Dodge County, Georgia and is being held without bond on a warrant from the Broward County Sheriff’s Office.[32]”

Source 32 was published on Thursday 26 July 18, citing the arrest as being on Wednesday (the day before).

This would keep the formatting in line with everything else in that section :) Legio LXIX (talk) 08:08, 6 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

May I edit Murder of XXXTentacion? Other than the Dodge Journey, there may have been a Jeep Grand Cherokee and a Chevrolet Tahoe. Onfroy’s uncle fled the BMW with the right door open during the shooting. Please, let me edit it.

“Murder” or “Killing”?

Should the title of the article be “Murder of XXXTentacion” or “Killing of XXXTentacion”? The original title of the article was the former. The vast majority of sources refer to the incident as a murder, however there have been no murder convictions yet as the trial(s) of the four suspects have not yet started. WP:COMMONNAME appears to be “Murder” but another user insists on changing it to “Killing”. What is the community’s consensus on this? TheXuitts (talk) 05:57, 22 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I believe “Murder” is appropriate while at the same time not stating culpability of the suspects until their convictions. TheXuitts (talk) 06:01, 22 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Naming this page as "murder" goes against Wikipedia:Naming conventions (violence and deaths), which requires a "conviction for murder" before the page can be named "Murder of .....". WWGB (talk) 06:15, 22 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
“Editors should only resort to this flowchart when such efforts fail or a consensus cannot be reached on what the COMMONNAME is from among the reliable secondary sources.”

Almost every source describes this as a murder. This is clearly the CommonName and this was not disputed until the original change to “Killing” nearly 4 years after the article’s creation. TheXuitts (talk) 06:27, 22 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The naming convention is pretty clear on this, there is no conviction. By the way you are incorrect about the original name of this article, it was "shooting". Polyamorph (talk) 10:52, 22 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
That part is my bad, but almost every source describes this as a murder. TheXuitts (talk) 11:44, 22 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
