The Old North is a district in Tel Aviv that was developed during the 1930s and 1940s, north of the historic city core at that time. During this period, the area was called "North of the city," and the term "Old North" was coined to distinguish it from the "New North" area, which was developed after the establishment of the State of Israel.[1] In 2018, the population of the neighbourhood was 32,080.[2]
The administrative division of the municipality defines the "Old North District" (District 3) as the area between the Yarkon River to the north and Arlozorov Street to the south, and between Ibn Gvirol Street to the east and the Mediterranean Sea to the west.[1]
