Media Take Out (MTO News) is an entertainment blog-style gossip website focusing primarily on African American celebrity news. The site is famous for its breaking news, bold headlines, exclusive scoops, and sometimes polemic stories, gaining both a massive readership and significant attention within the media landscape.

The website was founded by Fred Mwangaguhunga, a former corporate lawyer.[1] Mwangaguhunga was born to Ugandan parents in Washington, D.C., is a graduate of John Jay College of Criminal Justice at the City University of New York, and received two degrees from Columbia University.[2] As a former corporate lawyer with a background in business and entrepreneurship. He has an interesting career transition, moving from law to entrepreneurship, which he effectively leveraged to create a leading gossip and entertainment website.

Mediatakeout has grown to be one of the largest entertainment sites. It frequently experiences high volumes of traffic, reportedly garnering millions of unique visitors monthly.[3]

The site thrives on exclusive insider content, sometimes making waves with mainstream media when stories go viral. Its influence is evident in its wide reach and the discussions its stories spur on social media platforms.

Exclusives have been quoted by Good Morning America, Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, The New York Times, BET Style, MTV News, and the "Page Six" column of the New York Post, and by radio personalities including Wendy Williams, Howard Stern, and Tom Joyner. Media Take Out has broken several stories, including Kim Kardashian's first pregnancy, Remy Ma's criminal charges and Michael Jordan's divorce.[2] Mwangaguhunga has been crowned The Mogul of Black celebrity news,[4] he's been quoted in his sentiments relating to that by noting "People have always been interested in gossip, and they always will be. Black people are just like everybody else out here. The question isn't how you change that. The question is how you best fulfill that innate need in all of humanity."[5]
