DescriptionPhobos - Mars Express HRSC (47509761811).png
Mars Express HRSC image of Phobos, taken on September 4, 2018 during a close flyby of the Moon. The large crater at center is the 9km diameter Stickney, created by an impact that was sizeable enough to nearly disrupt the moon. The smaller 1 km crater Limtoc is visible at the 7 o'clock position inside Stickney. This image resolves features as small as 21 m across on Phobos' surface.
This image was taken during Mars Express' 18,929th orbit of Mars.
