Built 1940 directly for Norwegian use, but allocated US military serial 40-2509 for delivery purposes.
This was one of the initial batch of six Cornells delivered to ‘Little Norway’, the Norwegian training camp in Canada. Delivered with an open cockpit, by mid-1941 she had been fitted with a full canopy. She logged more than 1209 hours over the next 4 years. Allocated for preservation on retirement in 1957, she was later restored to her original open-canopy configuration.
