PT Wijaya Karya Beton Tbk History PT Wijaya Karya Beton Tbk, commonly known as WIKA Beton, is an Indonesian precast concrete manufacturer headquartered in Jakarta, Indonesia. The company was initially established as a division of PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (WIKA) in 1977, focusing on precast concrete for housing terraces.[1] In 1997, the division was spun off into an independent entity, forming PT Wijaya Karya Beton.[1]

Between 1981 and 1995, WIKA Beton expanded by establishing six additional factories in Pasuruan, Boyolali, Majalengka, Lampung, Binjai, and Makassar.[1] By 2009, its product range included concrete poles, PC panels, bridge girders, drainage beams, and maritime concrete.[1]

Business Development In 2010, WIKA Beton introduced large-diameter spun piles (1,000 mm). In 2011, the company inaugurated a new plant in Karawang and started producing box girders.[1] In 2012, WIKA Beton established PT Wijaya Karya Komponen Beton in partnership with PT Komponindo Betonjaya to support Japanese-funded infrastructure projects in Indonesia.[1] The company also launched a prestressed concrete business unit.[1]

In 2013, WIKA Beton partnered with PT Krakatau Engineering to establish PT Wijaya Karya Krakatau Beton, aiming to supply precast concrete for Krakatau Steel.[1] That same year, it built a South Lampung factory and started managing its own quarry.[1] The company also introduced hollow core slabs and precast concrete for buildings and industrial facilities.[1]

The company went public on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) in 2014 under the ticker symbol WTON.[1] It also acquired PT Citra Lautan Teduh and started producing cylinder piles (800 mm and 2,000 mm in diameter).[1]

In 2015, the company established a crushing plant in Bogor and created a Supporting Services Business Unit.[1] In 2018, WIKA Beton became a general contractor for the first time, working on the A.P. Pettarani Elevated Toll Road in Makassar.[1] In 2019, it exported concrete railway sleepers to the Philippines and completed Jakarta LRT Phase 1 (Kelapa Gading-Velodrome).[1]

Recent Developments In 2020, WIKA Beton introduced the Structural Health Monitoring System (SHMS) to assess the structural integrity of its concrete products.[1] The system was first implemented on the A.P. Pettarani Toll Road project.[1] The company also set up a mobile concrete plant in Bangkinang to support the Padang-Pekanbaru Toll Road construction.[1]

Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, WIKA Beton achieved a net profit of IDR 162.91 billion in 2022, reflecting a 96.51% increase from the previous year.[1]

In 2024, WIKA Beton launched a rebranded corporate identity, including a new logo and corporate vision: "To become a globally trusted and sustainable solution provider in the concrete industry."[2]
