Calvert L. Worth Jr. is a United States Marine Corps lieutenant general who has served as the commanding general of II Marine Expeditionary Force since August 2, 2024.[1] He most recently served as the commanding general of the 2nd Marine Division from 2022 to 2024.[2][3][4][5]
Worth earned a bachelor's degree from University of Missouri. He later received a Masters of Military Studies and a Masters Degree in Operational Studies both from Marine Corps University; and a Masters of Science in National Security Strategy from the National Defense University.[4]
Worth has served as the Military Assistant to the DoD Executive Secretary in the Office of the Secretary of Defense; Service as the Marine Military Assistant to the Under Secretary of the Navy; service in the Joint Staff J-3, J35 Regional Operations as the Division Chief, Joint Operations Division-CENTCOM. Prior to his division command, he served as the Director of Strategy, Policy and Plans (J5) in U.S. Southern Command.[4]
In May 2024, Worth was nominated for promotion to lieutenant general and assignment as commanding general of the II Marine Expeditionary Force.[6][7]
