Atlassian Central is a skyscraper in Sydney, Australia, which is currently under construction. Designed by Shop Architects and BVN, the tower will stand at a height of 183 metres.
History
Construction of the building, developed by Dexus Property Group and designed by architecture firms Shop Architects and BVN, began in 2022 and is expected to be completed by 2026 at an estimated cost of approximately 1.4 billion Australian dollars.[1][2] Its development is part of the New South Wales government's plan to create a technology district in the area adjacent to Sydney Central railway station.[3] The building will house Atlassian's headquarters but will also include spaces dedicated to a hostel.[3]
Description
Located in Sydney's CBD, just a short distance from Sydney Central railway station, the building will rise 42 stories to a height of 183 meters.[1] Once completed, it will be the tallest hybrid timber structure in the world, built using a combination of mass timber, concrete, and steel. The design features a glass and steel exoskeleton, planted terraces, and an innovative natural ventilation system.[3]
