anyone feel like smiling?

Hampton Lumber's smiley face forest in fall foliage, near Willamina Oregon

Perfect time of year for the forest. It might actually stand up as an article given the number of press mentions. Or create something for Hampton Lumber, which is part of a few historic railways that have articles. tedder (talk) 00:53, 10 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Don Coss

Word has filtered out to the world at large only in the past day or two that Don Coss died on January 15. So far, the only mentions I've found of his death are blog and social media posts. The Oregonian archives shows hints of greater coverage than passing mentions, but it's hard to say with the paywall and all. I'm not seeing enough coverage to meet WP:GNG. It might be reasonable to redirect Don Coss to Pacific Northwest Wrestling, where he is mentioned a few times. Zeibgeist (talk) 20:28, 26 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Newspapers notability

The Newspapers wikiproject is proposing to turn their notability guideline for newspapers into an official guideline. There's an RFC on the talk page: RFC on their talk page. You can ~~go your own way~~ make up your own mind on how you feel about it, but List of newspapers in Oregon and Category:African-American newspapers of Oregon show how we've benefited. tedder (talk) 04:33, 20 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Oregon Map Requests?

Hello! I'm still around doing my WikiGnoming thing and sometimes gnashing my teeth at AfD. Thanks for not letting the place burn down. Anyway, I went back to school for geography/GIS and I'm wondering if there are any Oregon-related maps people would find useful to add to existing articles. If they are within my (potential) skill set, they might be good class projects for me. Feel free to drop a note here or on my talk page. Cheers, Valfontis (talk) 22:50, 3 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
