Only used in one article, Greenmarket Square. I suggest substituting it on the article and deleting. ~ Rusty meow ~ 23:43, 15 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

How else can I create an interactive map for a Wikipedia article, like this, without it being a template? If it can only be done using a template then the policy arbitrarily prevents individual articles from having such a map. If not, then I am happy to create the map in non-template form. Per WP:TG, "Templates should not normally be used to store article text...". I don't see why we can't place the content of this template into United States presidential elections in Maryland or another article, and use labeled section transclusion and/or {{Excerpt}} to transclude the text. ~ Rusty meow ~ 17:24, 15 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

To be frank, I think this might be the most pointless navbox I've ever come across on this website. It is describing a "series" on a subject that doesn't even have its own Wikipedia article. It contains only 7 links in total, with half of its lists only having a single entry. Most of the articles linked don't have any verifiable connection to the subject of "libertarianism in Scotland"; the articles on the Age of Enlightenment, Adam Smith, David Hume and The Wealth of Nations never mention the ideology once. What you have left after you trim these are three articles: UKIP, a British party that never gained any elected representation in Scotland, let alone could be described as an exemplar of "libertarianism in Scotland"; the Scottish Libertarian Party, a fringe political party which has never managed to gain more than a fraction of a percentage of the vote; and Mark Meechan, a Nazi YouTuber turned failed political candidate for the previous two parties. At best, this sidebar is tying together a small handful of disconnected topics. At worst, it could appear to be an attempt to legitimise fringe viewpoints by connecting them with subjects of much greater importance. Bluntly, the scope of this sidebar ranges from synthetic to pathetic.

Apologies to the creator for roasting this template so much, as I think it's clear they're trying to improve navigability in good faith. But I have to recommend this template for deletion, as I think right now its existence is, at best, unhelpful; at worst, it could be actively harmful to our readers' understanding of these subjects. Grnrchst (talk) 10:35, 15 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Very well, I accept your constructive criticism, however I do believe that it is quite a stretch to describe Meechan as a "Nazi", he is a paleolibertarian with a particularly edgy sense of humour. Uglytriangle999 (talk) 23:10, 15 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Unhelpful template; long-obsolete competition, held sporadically, way too clunky to be navigable. Bgsu98 (Talk) 12:14, 28 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Keep I do not see why this template is " too clunky to be navigable". The fact that the competition is discontinued, does not make the navigation template useless. The Banner talk 15:07, 1 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

  • Strong Keep: These are serving as a sidebar and precisely doing what they are intended to. Inspiration was taken for the cricket articles from those of other sportspersons. (Personal note to @Vestrian24Bio: I am not formally accusing you of anything, but for someone who traditionally works in Cricket, your pointing out of the Arvind Kejriwal article like so many of the articles and templates made and edited by me point roads towards WP:HOUND, something not appreciated as all of them hold considerable amount of merit.) No idea what team this is: the "original" team or the strike breakers. Template only links to an article over the player strike. The Banner talk 03:07, 7 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I find it interesting that the other problem here is that the template "only links to an article over the player strike". That is another inconsistency. The absence of a linked article is normally one of the arguments for deletion... --Gaois (talk) 01:51, 14 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, I have been inaccurate or unclear. The backlink, 2008–2009 Cork senior hurling team strike, does not contain any information over the players involved other then the navigation template, making this team hang in the air. The Banner talk 02:56, 15 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
